A 'sumptuous supper was served by the ladies of the congregation after which the young people of the Brick Church, Wawanosh, presented a play entitled "Orange Grove." The scene was in California, an interesting ro- mance ran through the play, a young man providing oranges from 'his grove and a young lady from anoth- er grove, making thein into marrna- 1ade, was the means of bringing mat- ters to a 'successful climax. Rev. Mr. Grant of Belgrave, introduced the caste: Gilbert Beecroft, Mrs. L. Wightman, Velma Broomer, Beatrice Beecroft, Cyril Canning, Cecil Coul- tes, Jack Taylor, Miss Finlayson, Roy Pattison. Each member of the caste played their respective parts in splen- did style. Vocal solos, mouth organ selections and two whistling numb- ers by Mrs. Currie, were greatly en- jpoyed between acts. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McKinney and Miss Olive Scott were in Wingham daughter, Ilene, spent Sunday with Mrs. McKinney's parents, at Harris - ton. Miss Dorothy Aitkin, Miss Ethel Johnston and. Several items, of business were discussed. It was decided to hold a tea towel shower at the next •meeting. The Women's Missionary Society held their regular meeting at 'the conclusion of the meeting of the Woman's Association, with Mrs. 'Grant presiding. A tea was held at the close of the meeting. • Miss Edith Procter, Miss Helen Grasby and Mrs. C. R. Coultes at- tended the Sunday School Institute held in St, •Andrew's United Church in l3lyth on Wednesday. A very successful dance was held in the Foresters' Hall on Tuesday night in aid of, .the Blyth firemen who so nobly responded to the call for help during the serious fire here in March. Mrs. A, Procter and Verda were visitors with .Mr. and 11I,sr James Masters at Parkhill, Several members of the Women's Institute attended a meeting of the Institute at Auburn as guests of that Branch and with Blyth members also in . attendance. Several musical num- bers were enjoyed and a splendid ad- dress was given - by Miss Emily Guest, the summer speaker, who took as her subject "Meeting Present Con- ditions in a Practical Way. Many splendid suggestions were given in the carrying out of work in the corn- niunity. At the . close of the meeting lunch was served by the ' Auburn ladies. Mr. Jas. Anderson of the 5th line of Morris, received word on Sunday that his sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred An- dersoon, of . Paris, had passed away. Mr, John Anderson, of Wingham, Mr. James Anderson, John G. Anderson and C. R. Coultes of Belgraveattend- ed the funeral on Tuesday in Paris; Mrs. C. He will be forced to lie in the cast for ten weeks.
