The Schoolroom of S.S. No. 11,
Logan, was filled to capacity for the
Christmas entertainment presented
ty the 23 pupils under the direction
r the teacher, Miss Angela O'Reilly
with the music supervisor, Mrs. G.
Hamilton. as accompanist. A gaily
decorated tree had a place of prom
:nenee in the colorful decorativei
scheme. William Dating, former
Reeve of Logan, was the chairman
who introduced the various numbers
of a well -arranged program, includ-
ing playettes, drills, recitations and
choruses. Interesting features were
a violin selection and recitation by
William Dating, and two piano num-
'=:rers by Miss Isabel Knight, a foriner
pupil of S.S. No. 11. Cletus Watters
and A. Partridge played violin se-
'tections at intermission periods. The
climax of the program was reached
when Santa Claus arrived on the
platform amidst the singing of
Christmas carols. Gifts and packages
of Christmas treats were distributed
to the children and the National An-
them concluded the program.
The Secretary of the Schooli
Board, William Knipe, moved a vote
of thanks to Miss O'Reilly and Mrs,
Hamilton for the excellence of the
evening's entertainment which was
attended by persons from Kennecott,

A highly esteemed resident of
Dublin for almost forty years, Mrs,
Dr. Samuel A. Murray, died at her
home on Ann St., on Monday night
following a lingering illness. She
was formerly Miss Lydia Steiss,
daughter of the 'late Mr. and Mrs.
John Steiss, Cranbrook, and was in
her 88th year. She was married to
Dr. S. Murray in September 1906.
She is survived by her husband, two
sons, Sgt: Wilfred Murray, overseas
and Robert, Dublin; two daughters,
Mrs. Elmer Tuffin and Miss Bertha
Murray, Dublin; one brother, John
Steiss, Brussels, two sisters, Mrs.
John L. Benneweis, Brodhagen, and
Miss Marie : Steles, Cranbrook, also
two grandchildren.
The brilliance and artistic ar-
rangement of J. A. Darling, contrib-
uted to the excellence of the fine
entertainment at Dublin Public
School on Friday evening. To the.
teacher, Miss Hazel Roney, arid the
music supervisor; Miss Margaret
Dougall, special commendation is
due owing to the fact that only nine
pupils are enrolled. The chairman
was Rev. Mr. Risdon, who gave a
brief chairman's address •extending a
welcome and greetings to a capacity
audience, before announcing the var-
ious numbers, including duets, two
plays, recitations, two dancing num-
bers, 'Sailor's hornpipe' and 'Irish
Tilt,' featuring four senior girls; a
very effective flash light drill,

Santa Claus made his appearance
at the close Of the program and
caused his usual exeiement in dis-
tributing candy and gifts from the
gaily decorated Christmas tree, The
pupils taking part were: Joan Brit-
ton, Gwendolyn Britton, Joyce Wil-
son, Ella Louise Carman, Ina Ai-
kens, Phyllis Roney, Florence Moore,
John Moore and Darwin Lannin, A
voluntary collection realized a
splendid sum which was donated to
the Junior Red Cross,
The annual Christmas entertain-
ment took place at Bushfield's
school, Logan, on Friday afternoon,
under the efficient direction of the
teacher, Mrs. Earl Barker and the
music supervisor; Miss. Margaret
DongaIl. The chairman was Mr, F.
Josling who announced a well ar-
ranged program of drills. songs,
playettes. Christmas carols and chor-
uses which was presented to an ap-
preciative audience of parents and
friends. The school room was_artisti-
cally decorated and a bright colorful
Christmas tree occupied a position
of prominence, Following the pro-
gram concluded by the National
Anthem, Santa Claus made a dra-
matic entrance and jovially distrib-
uted candy and gifts to all the child-
ren.
Mrs. Kat]ileen Feeney entertained
the members of her music class at
her home on Saturday afternoon,
Ronald Butters was master of cere-
monies playing two selections before
announcing the various numbers of
the program, including piano num-
bers, two piano duets, carol singing
and the National Anthem. A social
hour was spent and lunch served by
the hostess.
Mr. and Mrs. James Erauskopf
were called to Windsor on Saturday
owing to the critical illness of Mrs.
Krauskopf's brother, William New-
combe. He had been in declining
health for the past two years from
a serious heart aihnent and he suf-
fered a paralytic stroke on Friday
which resulted in his death on Sat-
urday. bias. Krauskopf is the only.
surviving member of her family,
The funeral was held in Windsor on
Tuesday,
