An Induction Service will be held in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Friday evening, Sept. 7th, when Rev. Ferguson of Wiarton, will be inducted as minister of the congre- gation. A pretty Wedding was in St. Thomas Church, St. Catharines, when Mona •Mand Marie Hedden, daughter of Mrs. Catharine M. Red- den, of Hensall, became the bride of Pte. Harvey Alexander Shorthouse, of Peterboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Harry Shorthouse, St. Cath- urines. The church was lovely with a background of Gladioli in tall Standards. Rev. The groom was attended by his brother. William Jaynes Shorthouse, of St. Catharines. A reception for the im- mediate relatives was held at the home' of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Upper. The bride's mother received wearing flowered silk jersey with white accessories. She was assisted in receiving by the groom's mother wearing soft blue dress with black accessories, both wearing corsages of rosebuds. For the wedding trip to Northern Ontario the bride wore a pale blue summer suit with white accessories and corsage of gardenias. Mr. and Mrs. Ed.
