Mr. and Mrs, Harold Hanson and family of Stratford spent the week end with Mrs. Hanson's mother, Mrs. Violet Schwalm and Mr. and Mrs, Robert McKenzie,' Misses Marion Greene and Aucil'ey Russell have accepted positions at Kerslake's produce store. Miss Norma . Cook returned to London after spending the holidays at the home of her parents, Mr. and. Mrs. N. T, Cook: Mrs, Norman Stanlake returned hole after spending a few days in. London during the holidays. ' 'Keith Buchanan, R.C.A,F., Tren- Aon, spent New Years at his home. Mr. Stanley Walters spent the week end in Eeeter with his fafther, Mr. H. S. Waters. Miss Dorothy . Brazier, nurse -in - training at St. Joseph's Hospital, London, visited during the holidays with Dr. and Mrs. D. G. Steer and Patsy. Mrs. A. C. Meidinger spent New Years in Zurich. Mrs. Churchill and daughter, Miss Elvira, of Toronto, spent Christmas holidays with the for'mer's daughter, Mrs. E, Shaddick. Following is an airgraph message received from Pte. Lloyd Brock by the Hensall Institute. "Just a line of thanks to the people -of the Institute and the citizens of Hensall who 'so willingly back us up by sacrificing hemselves to make these parcels so lovely and good. I am sure they are appreciated to the highest extent by all the boys who are so fortunate to receive them. I look forward to them for the good Canadian cookies and homemade fudge which is in all my parcels. I can assure you that it snakes a big difference to receive them. We can say the people at home are behind us even if Jerry is in front. So in appreciation I wish you all a Merry Christmas and the best of luck to you all for the years to come. LLOYD BROCK." The Late Mrs. Miller Edwards Mrs. Miller Edwards, well-kno resident of Hay Township died her home on Saturday foliowi several weeks illness. Mrs. Edward was a daughter of the late Mr. Mrs. Jas. Stanley of Lucan. Aft her marriage Mr. and Mrs. Edwar took up residence on the second co cession of Hay where Mrs. Edwar has resided ever since. Surviving one son Basil -Edwards, with who she resided and one brother, Ha vey Stanley of Lucan.
