JOHN WELLINGTON ,JOHNSTON
A highly respected resident passed
away on Sunday, November 9, at
his home on the Bayfield Road, in
the person of J. Wellington John:
stop. Mr. Johnston was born Octo-
ber 9, 1372 and resided on the
homestead, except for ten years, un-
til his death. He was married to
Mary E. Clark, June 17, 1903,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Olark, Babylon Line, who
survives him together with two sons
and four daughters: J. Pence John-
ston of Wellington, Rena E. John-
ston, Toronto; Mrs. Melvin Web-
ster (Cassie) Varna; Miss Rachel
Johnston„ Varna; Mrs, Harold DOW,-
son(Margaret) Varna; Mr. Lloyd W.
Johnston, Varna, 'and eight grand-
children. He was a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. John Johnston, Varna.
His only sister, Mrs. Thomas M.
Johnston, predeceased him hi 1944.
Mr. Johnston was a member of the
Varna United Church. The funeral
was very largely attended and was
held from his date residence on Wed-
nesday, Nov, .12, at 2 p.m. Inter-
ment in Bayfield cemetery, Rev.
Rheba Hern officiating. The pall-
bearers were John McAsh, Ed. Fost-
er, Lee McConnell, George John-
ston, John Dowson, Tom Stinson.
The floral tributes were many and
beautiful. The flower -bearers were
Melvin Clark, Will Clark, Orville
Workman, Alfred ,Moffat, Clifford
Keys, Elmer Webster, Wm. Hayter,
Wilmer Reid, Glen Dowson, Ernest
McClinchey. Those attending from a
distance were Mr. and Mrs. 3. Pere
Johnston, Phyllis and Robert, Well-,
ington; Miss Rena E. Johnston, Tor-
onto; Mr's. R. A. Miller, Leamington;
Mrs. R, S. Evans, Oshawa; Mr. -and
Mrs. C. S. Reid, Toronto; Mrs,
