1V,(M,S. was held on. (Wednesday,
June 8th with Mrs, W. A. Bremner
presiding, After the opening hymn
and Scripture reading, Mrs. W. Ste-
vens led in prayer, After the 'business
was transacted an interesting letter
was read, sent by Miss Bessie Mc=
Gregor, (Balboa, iCalifornia, to the
members of ,the 'W,M,iS. Although
Miss 'McGregor is so tar away site
still retains a keen interest in the mis-
sionary .societies hi (Bruedfield, •A
most interesting report was given by
Mrs. ((Rev.) W, A. Bremner, delegate
to the London conference branch held
in Walkenville May 1041. The fol-
lowing is a short extract of her re-
port: Records of a successful - year,
the:first yeas of its existence. There
were 250 delegates registered, Mrs.

A large crowd witnessed the soft-
ball games played -here last Friday
night when Clinton teams motored
down to play .the scheduled league
games. Both home teams were de-
feated.
The joint meeting of the U.F.O. and
U.'iF.'W.O. was well 'attended. A social
hour was spent after the regular
meeting. It -was decided to hold a
picnic to (Bayfield on the afternoon of
June 23.
The Y. P. meeting Sunday evening
June 12th was in charge of the Mis-
sionary ccsmmittee. Miss Anna Haugh
gave an interesting synapsis of the
book, "The Christ of the Indian
Road," spoke !briefly of the draw-
backs which race' prejudices are creat-
ing in mission work. Don't forget
we are having a meeting again next

An epidemic of chickenpox has
broken out in Tuckerstnith school.
The Sacrament of the 'Lord's Sup-
per was .observed in the United church
last Stmday. The service was largely
'attended, 205 taking communion.
The cantata, "Joseph's Bondage,"
was put on by the Blyth 'Choral So-
, clay an Monday' evening. Great cre-
dit is due to those who have trained
the large chorus and it is seldom that
so elaborate a -production is so well
presented by an amateur society. The
