long resident of , McKillop passed
away on Wednesday, December 29.th,.
in the person of Mr, James Henry
Campbell, aged 69 'years and 11
'months. ,Ile was a son of the late
Robert Campbell. Twenty-six years
ago he was married to Miss Harriet
Dale, of 'Huilett, and until five years
ago he had resided on the eighth
concession, inoving at that . time to
lot 20, concession' 7. Besides his
widow he is survived by ' one son
=George, of (McKillop; also, a brother
and a sister, Robert A. and Miss Mar-
garet Ann,, also of McKillop. . For
over' forty years he had been a menti
;ber of Winthrop Orange Lodge and
for the past lwehty+stx years of the
Royal Black Knights, ,He was a
Presbyterian and latterly a °°member
of the United .Church. ,�He • was a
cuiet, unassuming man, who had the
respect of the community in which
he spenthis life. .For many years his
health had ,pot been the best. The
funeral will. take place Friday, ser-
vice at 2 ,p.,ni. and funeral at 2.30 p.m.
from his late residence to: the place of
interment in Maitland Bank cemetery!

The play entitled, "An Old Fashioned
!Mother,' ' given by the Young People
df .Hiilsgreen on Tuesday evening last
was one of the best for a long time.
The .parts were well taken and acted
and though it lasted for two hours the
people were not too tired to wait to
see' Santa come and give the gifts off
the tree to the little folks. And he
did not forget the poor children in
Toronto and other places for he had
a tree for them too. It is said that
the Young People have been asked
to give it in Kippen and other places
in the near future. Those that did
not hear it will have a chalice to hear
.in these places.
