The political pot is beginning to
boil in South Huron for the coming
Provincial election. Both the Conserv-
ative and Liberal executives met in
Hensall on Friday evening last. The
Conservatives are beginning their
campaign immediately and are calling
a' convention on Friday afternoon,
Oct. 29th, to nominate a candidate
end several prominent speakers will
be present. We understand the Lib
erals are sending a delegation to To-
ronto to interview their leader as to
placing a candidate in she field of
South Ilinoti and will probably hold a
'convention, in the near future, he

date in the field for some time.
Mr. Wm. Govenlock, of Egmond-
vine, will be the Returning Officer,
and the campaign will be under way
immediately.
Rev. Mr. MoDonald, (If Egniond•
ville, will be in charge of the service
next Sunday morning in the United
Church. He will preach the annual
missionary sermon and an appeal will
be made for missionary -funds. On
Sunday, Nov. 7th, Thanksgiving ser-
vices •Nvill be held in the church. Spe-
cial music will be provided by the
choir. and a Thanksgiving °tiering
will he take tt up in aid of church
work.
The Young, People's League of the
-United Church held a Hallowe'en so-
cial oil Monday evening.The base -
anent was nicely decorated for the
occasion. The meeting was opened
by the singing of a hymn, after which
iMr. Peck led in prayer. The Scrip -
lure lesson was read by Miss Ethel
1Murclock. A good program was
given consisting of an instrumental
