A serious accident occurred on
Thursday evening at the C. P. R.
crossing in 1131y'fh on the Wingham
road. Mr. Wm, Johnson -was return -
mg to Blyth front the north after
clarlc, and on .reaching the C. N. le.
tracks noticed one engine on the east
side of the crossing taking water at
the tank. He did not see any lights
or hear a train 6e11 to the west, On
proceeding on to the tracks, Mr.
Johnston crashed into the side of an
engine coming 'from the (vest, Mr.
Johnston was taken to Dr, a'Iiltie's
office, where it was -found that he
suffer'e'd from injuries to itis head,

broken The car was destroyed.
