attempts of the Ontario Referendum Committee to mislead the

A large numeber of people attend-
ed the school fair on Monday last,
which was a great success, as was
also the concert at night. -
Mrs, E. Drake, Seaforth, attended
the fair here on Monday having rec-
ently returned from the West, where
she had been, visiting friends.
Anniversary services 6re .held in
the Staffs Methodist Church morn-
ing and evening• on the 12th of Oct-
ober. Rev. Percy Bodson, B. A.,
principal of Alma's Ladies' College,
St. Thomas, will take both services.
On the following Friday evening,
October 17th, a supper will be pro-
vided by the ladies of the congrega-

Miss Elsie Parsons has resigned

to take a permanent one further

ren were splendid and the competi-

Hare's funeral at Roy's Church. on
Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Barr was a
native or Hibbert and had lived here
most of his life, He was highly res-
pected., He leaves a widow and two
sons who reside in Stratford.
Dr. Margaret Patterson,of Toron-
to occupied the pulpit here last Sun-
day morning and evening, under the
auspices of the W. M. S. it- was a
great privelege to hear so distinguish
ed a speaker as Dr. Patterson, and it
was unfortunate that the weather
was so inclement as to keep many at
home, who missed her interesting
talk on her life inindia where she
