Mathers, who is living at 'Guam Island in the South Pacific, that a violent typhoon recently struck the island causing mncfh damage. Some of his belongings were lost in the storm. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Mc'Gavin and Miss Belle 'McCully and Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Clarke were in Strathroy on Friday attending the funeral of Miss Margaret Weir. Rev. and Mrs. Williams and son Mack, of -Detroit, .and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Williams, London, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. McKellar last week. Mr. Walter Boswell of London spent the weekend at his ,home in town. Mrs. Ross Sproat and Mrs. Thelma Brugger have returned from a holi- day spent in Montreal.
