streets in dignity and unhampered
in any respect, they occupy respon-
sible positions as men. They are
teachers, preachers., Bible -women,
doctors, nurses, itinerant-missionar
les, and are proving themselves very
capable. Now a missionary holds no
executive position in schools, churches
or hospitals, but are co-workers with
the Christian Chinese leaders.
Miss Rouse affirms that the
Chritsian teaching has been so afee-
tual and the people have accepted it
so confidently that communism can
never undermine their faith in Jesus
Christ.

of Mrs. E. Jarrott with Mrs. Ross
Love as co,hostess. The meeting
opened with the Institute ode fol-
lowed by the Lord's Prayer. Roll call
was answered by 100% by the de-
vice on your farm or home that has

15 years. The motto was ably taken
by Mrs. A. Varley, "April's eyes
are brimming over but it's these sil-

piano solo by Marie Jarrott. The
guest speaker was then introduced
by the President, Grace Tremeer,
Miss Nora Cunningham of the
Health Unit, Clinton, She gave an
interesting description of her work
in the county. The bus trip for the
Institute inembers was again dis-
cussed. A committee was formed to
look after arrangements, Miss Grace
Treineer, Mrs. Ross Chapman, Mrs.
Jas, MeNaughton. Cards of thanks
were read from Mrs, Arthur Finlay -
2011 and Mrs. Wes. Coleman and
family. Letter of thanks from our
veteran for parcel received, A per-
sonal thanks from Mrs. C. Eyre for
a box received for Douglas. Mrs. W.
McLean gave the topic. "Recent De-
velopments in Textiles". Current
events by R. M, Peck. The new» com-
munity centre at Hensall was dis-
cussed and decided to have a .dance
in October and give proceeds to
same. Instrumental by Mrs. Ross
Broadfoot.' The President read a
portion of the hand book. Cottons
for the cancer fund to be brought
to the next meeting. Mrs. Hugh Mc-
Gregor moved a vote of thanks to
the host, and hostess, seconded by
Mrs. Ross Broadfoot. Meeting clos-
