Kale, R.R. 5, Seaforth, to Mr. Louis I. O'Reilly, McKillop, son of the late .Mr. and Mrs. Francis 0' - Reilly was solemnized in St, Colum - ban Church on Saturday at 9:80 a.m. Rev. F. J. O'Drowski performed the marriage ceremony and Rev. John • Stapleton, Toronto, cousin of the bride 'sang the nuptial mass.', ,1VIrs. Vincent Lane, presided at the organ. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor -length gown of white slipper satin, with fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline and long pointed sleeves. The full skirt had panels of Alecon lace. The three- quarter length veil was held in place by a Grecian crown studded with 'Ceylon pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of American Beauty roses.. Her only jewellery was, a double- strand of pearls, the.. gift of the groom. The bride's sister, Miss Mar- ion Kale, was bridesmaid, ina floor - length gown of liaiie green taffeta with puffed sleeves, cape collar and fitted bodice. The full skirt was styled with a bustle back. She car- ried a cascade bouquet of pink car- nation and larkspur. Her matching headdress was of tulle with taffeta bow. Mr. Joseph S. O'Reilly, brother of the groom acted as best man. The ushers were Mr. Thomas Kale and Mr. Basil O'Reilly. The soloist, Miss Beatrice Lane, sang "Ave Maria" at the offertory and "On This Day, 0' Beautiful Mother" at the signing of the register. The wedding dinner was served at the Commercial Hotel, Seaforth. The dining room was pret- tily decorated with flowers and pink and white streamers, the bride's table being centred with a three tiered wedding cake. A reception followed at the home of the bride's 'a • parents. The bride's mother received in a navy and white ensemble with white accessories and wore a corsage of pink carnations. Mrs. Michael Murray, cousin of the ;room assist- ed wearing' a two-piece cocoa brown dress with eorsa:e of pink and white carnations. LONDESBORO John Fingland, 88, of Londesbor- -ough, died in the Wingham hospital Tuesday. Mr. Fingland had moved to Londesborough about 25 years ago after he retired from farming and sold his farm located near Londes- borough. For a time Mr. Fingland was township clerk in Hullett Township. In earlier years he was active in the Liberal party. He was 'also..a Mason and a member of Londesborough United Church. Born near Galt he was a sort of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Fing- land. He moved from Galt up to this district about 50 years ago. Surviving are his wife, whom he married 64 years ago; four sons, ns, Rev. Dr. R.Fingland, Niagara Palls; Colin Fingland, Winghant Frank Fingland, K.C., Clinton, and Murray Fingland, Cochrane, and four daugh- ters, Mrs. Mary 'Grieson, Sunder- land: Mrs, G. Barker, Toronto; Alice Fingland, Londesborough, and Mrs. Flora Jones, St Thomas. The guest speaker was Mrs. Brenton from Londesborough, She chose as her subject "Race and Ra- cial Relations". Mrs. A Cuthill, from Seaforth gave a reading on Christ- ian Stewardship. Mrs. Roy Larson gave a few short readings for the Seaforth Evening, Auxiliary. Iris Byermann, ;from Winthrop Mission Band, rendered a solo "How do you like to go .up in a 'Swing?". The words of appreciation were given by Mrs. James McClure. Mrs. T. Betties closed the meeting with prayer. After the service in the auditorium everyone was' invited to the school- room where 'a bazaar and social time was• spent. BLAKE The Blake school S.S. Martindale and Mrs. Lebn Jeffrey are attending the retreat at Briscia Hall in London this week. All were greatly' enjoyed by a large congregation drawn from Bethel, and Duff's and Cavan ap- pointments. Mrs. Bolton acted as ac- companist for the duets and trios. It was led by the pastor, Rev. J. R. Peters, who gave short stories on the wisdom HIS ONE MISTAKE He brushed his teeth twice a day with a nationally advertised tooth paste. The doctor examined him twice a year. He wore his rubbers when it rained. He slept with the windows open. He stuck to a diet with plenty of fresh vegetables. He relinquished his tonsils and traded in several worn-out glands He golfed, but never more than eighteen holes at a time. He got at least eight hours sleep every night`. He never smoked, drank nor lost his temper. He did his daily dozen daily. He was all set to live to be.one-hundred. The funeral will be held Wednesis '. He is survived by eighteen specialists, four health institutes, six gymnasiums and numerous manufacturers of health foods and antiseptics.
