The annual bazaar of St. George's
Anglican Church, Walton, will be,
held on Thursday; Nov. 4th, in the
community hall.
The regular monthly meeting of
the W.M.S. was held in the church
basement with Mrs. C. Martin pre-
siding. Roll call was answered by a
Thanksgiving poem. A very interest-
ing letter was read from Miss M.
Smillie in which she told that our
Society was first organized in 1887
and she and one other member of
that first group are still living. Mrs.

tained a number of girls on the oc-
casion of her slaughter Audrey's 12th
birthday.
On illortlay evening Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Fischer were surprised when
relatives and neighbors gathered at
Hinz's hall and presented them with
a trilight lamp and end table prior to
their leaving to live in Mitchell. The

The first game of the Chesley-
Seaforth series was played in- Ches-
ley on Friday night under the lights
of the Chesley Town Park. At the
end of nine hard fought innings the
score book read Chesley Blue Bomb-
ers 9, Seaforth Bosharts 8.

The second game between these
two teams had to be postponed be-
cause of the snow which fell over
the weekend. This game which was
scheduled for Monday afternoon is
being played Wednesday afternoon.

• The death occurred at his home on
the Bluewatcr Highway South, on Sat-
urday, October 16th, of George Dewar,
a well known resident of Stanley,
Township, after a long, illness.
Mr. Dewar; who was the second son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. J, Dewar, was
in his 85th year and was born on the.
homestead where he still resided at,
his death. His wife the former Mar-
tha Pollock, died in 1322, He .,is sur-
vived by one daughter Mrs. Wm.,
Talbot (Eva) who lived with hint and
four grandchildren, also one brother,
David Dewar of Bayfield, and one half
sister Miss Mary Dewar of Kincard-
ine. lIe was a Presbyterian in religion
and for 35 years was an elder in first,
St. Andrew's Church, and in later
years, Knox Church, Bayfield.
The funeral, which was held from
his late residence on Tuesday at 2
pan.., was largely attended Rev. D. J.
Lane was in charge of the service.
The pallbearers were Messrs. Carl
Houston, Harold Stinson Thomas
Westlake, Archibald Armstrong, Rob-
eat Greer and Fred Watson. Among
those who attended from a distance
