At the manse of Brucefield Unit-

at high noon, Rev. Mr. Stanway sol-
emnized the marriage of Laura M.
Snell, daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. William Snell of Londesboro,n
to Neville Forbes, son df Mrs. James
and the late Mr. Forbes of Clinton..
Miss Emma Griffin of Welland was
bridesmaid and Mr. Walter Forbes,
brother of the groom; was best man.
The bride was attired in a-lainnp-
lighter blue suit with matching
slope -grey accessories. A corsage of
red Briarcliffe roses completed the
ensemble. Miss Griffin chose a suit
of cherry red gabardine with black
accessories and she wore a corsage
of yellow Pervet roses. The groom's
gift to the bride'was, a Lorie -wrist
watch, to the bridesmaid, a Coalport
cup and saucer, and to the grooms-
man a bill fold
Following the ceremony a recep-
tion was held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Boyce, Brucefield,
where a buffet dinner was served to
the immediate families and friends.
The hostess, sister of the bride,
received in a suit of royal blue ga-
bardine and wore corsage of Talis-
man roses. The groom's mother
wore a burgundy red dress with a
corsage of yellow Pervet roses. Mr.
and Mrs. Forbes left on a trip to
Muskoka, on their return they will
reside in Hullett..
Out of town guests were present.
from Welland; Detroit, Windsor, St.
Catharines, Thorndale, St. Mary's
Stratford, Wingham,' and Goderioh.
Prior to her marriage the bride
was entertained by her friends at a
number of showers. The first of
these was cup and saucer shower
given by Miss Emma Griffin, in her
home on Aqueduct St., Welland. The
staff of First St. School entertained
at a dinner at Sathfron Inn where.
the bride -elect was presented with a
combination pressure cooker and can-
ner from the Public School teachers
of Welland. Miss Patricia 'Marshall,
on behalf of the Business and Pro-
Women's Club,.had ,a mock wedding
where the, guest of honour was pre-
sented with an. American Woman's
cook book, Miss Margaret Waters,
assisted by the' members of the F.H.
0. class of Central United Church.,
also entertained at,a supper at Mor-
o•an's Point, there. Miss Snell was
the recipient of a hand wrought alu-
minum tray.

Aid Societies." Miss Frances Hender-
son, executive secretary of the Ont-
ario Children's Aid Society told a
meeting of Huron officials at Elim-
ville.United Church.
Called at the request of Huron
Council, in the interests of Huron
County Children's Aid Society, the
meeting was addressed by a number
of local and visiting officials.
Benson Tuckey, reeve. of Exeter,
outlined the work, and said the aim
of the body was to place evely
needy child in foster homes.
Mrs. George Johnston, of Goder-
ich, thanked the speakers. Lunch,
was served by members of Elimville
Women's Institute, sponsors of the
meeting.
