Word was received here of the
death in Seattle, Wash., of Mrs. John
Fortune. She was formerly Miss
O'Shea of Seattle and her husband is
a native of Tuckersmith Township,
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Fortune, Tuckersmith. They were mar-
ried 41 years ago M Seattle and have
resided there since. Mrs. Fortune is
survived by her husband, two sons
and two daughters. The funeral took
place in Seattle.

had the misfortune to be struck by a
car driven by Mr. Elton Bates of
Trenton., IVIieh„ While crossing tiro
highway in front of her home on Sat-
urday evening last. The little girl suf-
tered a fractured leg and minor in-
juries. The driver or the car was 1101
held.

The funeral of the late Mr. A. W.
McEwing who was laid to rest in
Brussels cemetery Thursday after-
noon of last week, which was private,
was well attended by relatives and
neighbors. Friends were present from
London, nrueeheid,.Tuckersmith, Sea -
forth, Brussels and near Ethel, Dray-
ton, Harriston and near Belgrave. We
wish to extend Sincere sympathy to
the family and friends.
