organ. The bride, given in Marriage
by her father wore pink brocaded
satin in a long gown fashioned with.
pannier hipline. Her headdress and
veil were in matching tones and she
carried a prayer book with Talisman
roses and showered with streamers
caught with roses. Miss Marjorie
Brook, Reg. N., was the only bridal
attendant. She wore a pinknet frock
with bouffant skirt, Her headdress
was of pink taffeta and she carried
a colonial bouquet of sweet peas in
blended tones. Lawrence Robinson
was his brother's best man. Follow-
ing a dinnerat the Hotel London,
for the bridal' party, the couple left
on a trip to Muskoka. For travelling
the bride chose a pink dress with
white accessories and a corsage of
roses.
The bride, a graduate of St. Mi-
chael's Hospital, hi Toronto, has
been on the staff of Westminster
Hospital.
The stores in. Hensall will remain
closed from Wednesday at 12:30
noon until Friday morning owing to
Thursday being a holiday.

George Dick, a resident of Hay
Township, died at the residence
of his daughter, Mrs. Charles
Forrest, Hensall, in his 72nd year.

Mrs. J. Verbeem, Pt. Edward; Mrs,
W. Broadfoot, Seaforth; Yliss Mar-
garet Dick, Strathroy and Mrs. For-
rest and two sons, Earl and Edwin,
both, of Cromarty; and a brother, J.
D. Dick, Orillia and three sisters 1
Mrs. B. Ball, Hensall, Mrs. Ida Cald-
well and Mrs. A: Tate, Mimico.
The funeral will be held from
Bonthron's funeral home, Hensall,
Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev,
P. A. Ferguson, Carmel Presbyter-
ian Church officiating. Interment
will be in Hensall Union Cemetery.
The annual choir picnic of Hen-
sall United Church will be held at
Turnbull's Grove, on Wednesday
afternoon, July 7th. Miss Mary
Goodwin, Misses Betty .Mickle and
Betty Rowcliffe, Bill Mickle and
Jim Rowcliffe, compose the sports
ceminittee. Please bring your lunch
baskets. All interested in attending.

2:30 p.m. Children and guests are

The spacious lawns at the home
of Miss Margaret Glenn, provided a
lovely setting for the annual Even-
ing Auxiliary picnic, which was
held Wednesday afternoon, June 23
with a splendid attendance of
mothers, children and guests. A de-
licious picnic lunch was heartily en-
joyed by all. A pleasing feature of
the affair was the presentation of a

Shortt, while hymn books were pre-
sented to Miss Barbara Michie, Miss
Tate, Mrs. Sherd, Mrs. J. Consitt,
Mrs. A. Pearson. Miss Gladys Luker
assisted by Mrs. Byron Kyle made
the presentations. The sports com-
mittee, Miss Michie and Miss Mar-
garet Glenn, arranged the races and
entertainment with the following
winners. Group 1, Billy Shaddick;
group 2, Catharine Lavelle; group 3
Judy Shaddick; wheelbarrow race,
Audrey Walsh and Eudora Hyde;
kick -the -slipper, Mrs. J. Ingram; re-
lay race, Mrs. Mary Buchanan's
group; ring and toothpick, Miss Ed-
na Walsh's group; treasure hunt,
Mrs. J. M. Glenn's side.
Miss Betty Moir -is holidaying
with Mr. and Mrs. George Cowen in
Cookstown.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan McAllister of
Edmonton, Alta., visited during the
past week with Mrs. John McAllist-
er and relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson and
family visited recently with Mr. and
Mrs. Jas. Morris and family in God-
erich.
Mr. Allen Soldan of London spent.
the weekend at the home of his
mother, Mrs. H. Soldan,
Mr. and Mrs. W. 0. Goodwin,
Miss Mary Goodwin and Mrs. Maul-
kinson are holidaying at Turnbulls
Grove.
Mr, Eris Reid and Mrs. J. Reid
of London, visited recently with Mr.
and Mrs. A. L. Case. They were ac-
companied home by Mr. J. Reid, who
spent the past week with Mr. and
Mrs. Case.
Mrs. Emma Parker- who spent the
past several weeks with meinbers
of her family at Mitchell is visiting
with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker.
Mrs. Floyd Adair and Eunice
visited recently with Mr. and Mrs.
Adair at Lucan. They were accom-
panied home by Lucy Adair, who
spent the past two weeks with her
grandparents in Lucan.
Mr. and 'Mrs. John Paterson were
recent visitors with Rev. Wm. Weir,
Mrs. Weir and family in Brampton.
Mrs. Gladys Smith who spent the
past number of weeks with her
mother, Mrs. Annie Saundercock
left on Sunday for her home in Mon-
treal.
Mr. and Mrs. A. W. E. Hemphill
left to spend the summer months at
their summer hone at Oakwood,
Grand Bend,
Quite a number from Hensall at-
tended the Decoration Services at
Exeter cemetery, on Sunday.
Miss Marguerite McDonald has
accepted a position in the People's
Jewellery Store in London, and com-
menced her duties there last week.
School Picnic
Lions Park, Seaforth, made an
ideal setting for the Hensall Public
School picnic, on Friday: Bathing
and sports were enjoyed. During the
supper hour Miss Barbara Michie,
Junior room teacher, who has re-
signed to teach a kindergarten
school at Ingersoll, was presented
with a pen and pencil set by Mar-
garet Smillie, the address being
read by Judy Shaddick. Mr. Elgin
Shortt, principal, who tendered his
resignation to accept a six -roomed
school at Palmerston, was presented
with a gift from the Senior pupils.
The presentation was made by Dolly
Hildebrandt, the accompanying ad-
dress read by Lois Henderson, Miss
Jean Brandon, Interm'lediate teacher,
was the recipient of a. gift of appre-
ciation of her services. Ml made
fitting replies thanking the pupils
for the gifts. Following are. the .ad-

Evangelical Church here, proved a
decided success. A splendid program
consisting of recitations, readings,
solos; duets and violin music and the
address by the pastor, Rev. R. Led-
erman. The church was filled with a
splendid audience.
Little Mayda Beuerman had her
tonsils, removed on Monday and is
recovering nicely.

at Galt and Morriston.
Mrs. Norman Byerman recently
spent a day with her sister, Mrs.

same on or before July 12th. 1948. Licenses will be
issued from the Treasurer's Office in the Town Hall,
or from the Tax Collector, J. Cummings.
After that date summonses through the Court
will be issued to the owners or harhorers of dogs not
having licenses.
All dogs must wear license tags.
