Link died last week in Preston. She was born 41 years ago in Seaforth. Mr. John Jones, London, spent the week end at his home here. Mrs. J. L. A. Haugh, last week. At the morning service Sunday morning the "Mother's Day and Go to Sunday School" service was ob- served. The order of worship for a Family Day in the church school was used. Scripture reading was read by Margaret Zapfe and the story "The broken tubes" was given by Wilmer Johnston. The rites of baptism were administered to six children, namely: Robert John, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas, McNaughton; Brian Neil, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Finlayson: Mary Ellen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jas, Burdge; Nancy Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and 14Irs. Aldie Mustard; Brian David son of Mr. and Mrs. David Triebnner, and James Doug- las, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Broad - foot. An appropriate sermon was given by the pastor, Rev. E. R. Stan- way, Miss Elizabeth Scott of London, spent the weekend with relatives in the village. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Burdge of God- erich were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Mustard on Sunday. Mrs. John McIntosh of Toronto, spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. C. Haugh. Tuekersmith have had electric lights installed in the village, which are a great benefit to the people; the lights were turned on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Boyce and fam- ily spent Sunday in Goderich with the fornier's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Boyce. W. A. Meeting Beautiful weather favoured us on Visitor's Day at the regular Mak meeting of the W. A. There was a very large crowd in attendance, our visitors being ladies from Turners and Kippen. Miss Bowey presided and Mrs. T. B. Baird took the devo- tional. Mrs. Wilson was secretary and Mrs. Johnston at the piano. The creed was repeated. Hymn "Take up thy Cross" was sung and Mrs. Baird read -the scripture and the medita- tion. Miss Bowey led in prayer. The roll call on "Mother's Day" was an- swered by members. As it was visit- ors' day, no important business was transacted. Members were asked to bring in articles for the Fall Bazaar. Hymn "0 Master let me walk with Thee" was sung, followed by the W. A. Prayer. A social hour followed, Kippen and Turner's furnished the following items for the program. Mrs. J. Sinclair and Mrs. Ross Broadfoot played two lovely duets. Mrs. Frank Walters gave a reading, Miss Bernice McClinehey sang two much appreciated solos. VARNA Mrs. Moore of London in company with her mother Mrs. McClymont of Kippen, were recent guests at the home of. Mrs. Wm.. Hart. Mrs. Rathwell, who has not been enjoying the best of health, is now with her daughter, Mrs. Horner, in Exeter. We hope the change will help her. Mr. and Mrs. Breatherton and family of Kitchener were renewing acquaintances in Stanley recently. Mr. and Mrs. Laythem.and family of London, spent the weekend with the latter's mother, Mrs. L. Beatty and Edith. Mrs. Tuffin of Staffa is visiting' her daughter, Mrs. Aldington. The many friends of Mrs. J. F. Smith will be sorry to hear she is un- der the Doctor's care. A Mothers' Day Service was held in the United Church 'on Sunday morning last. During the service three children were baptized.
