to report that Mr. Thos. Chuter is
seriously ill and under the doctor's
care. We wish hitt a speedy recov-
ery.
Sunday, October 4 will be observed
as Harvest Thanksgiving in 'St. John's

Janes of Gorrie, will take the services.

'have returned to Toronto after spend-

On Thursday of last week the nei-
ghbourhood was aroused .at the alarm
of fire 'when tthe barn 'belonging to Mr,
Breatherton was totally destroyed, to-
gether with the whole .season's crop, a
number of 'fowl and a good calf, be-
sides some implements. There was
no insurance. Much sympathy is felt
