Reeve J. W. Beattie, whose name
is one of the .most prominently. men-
tioned for Warden of the .County for
1931, gave an informative speech re-
garding county council matters. Mr.
Beattie said that considerable econ-
unties could be effected, and gave as
an example the sums paid to various
its committees for special' meet -
Mr. Leonard F. Bolton . said. he
Would he in the fields for council.
His reason for opposing the new fire
alarm system was the cost for a

Mr. W. A. Crich announced < he

having served for a goodly number

Mr. Conrad Eckart gave an ac-
count: of his stewardship on the oro-
perty committee of the Councillast
year,. The renovations of Victoria
Park had .been accomplished, along
with other necessary work, including
the disposal of machinery at the old
waterworks, securing a new town
clump, etc.
Dr, R. R. Ross had not expected
to be nominated, and had not yet de-
cided te'hether he would' be in the
field for council.,
