A snappy game of foot ball was
played here last Friday night between
Brussels and Winthrop. The game
was a tie, neither team, scoring. 'Win-
throp had the best of the play, and
kept the ball pretty well up in front
of Brussels goal. The .Brussels goalie
did splendid work and stopped many
a good shot, Monkton plays here
July the 3rd.
We are glad to hear that Jack gul-
ly, eldest son of Mr. and 3 s, 'Gordon
Hully, is improving after a very
severe illness of pneumonia.
We were sorry to hear of Mr. and
Mrs. John Henderson being so sev-
erely injured in a oar accident. Mr.
Henderson spent his boyhood' days
west of the village and his many
friends wish them both.a speedy re-
covery.

ments on the Stewart Drain Repair,
Bylaw No. 331 re Stewart Drain Re-
pair, received its second reading. Re-
solutions were passed appointing
Frank Feeney as poundkeeper, and in-
structing the clerk to prepare a bylaw
and schedule to raise the necessary
stem on the lands and roads within the
area of the McMillan drain and to set
out the extra assessments required for
the deficiency in the • said drain, A
