,Miss Evelyn Peterson 'underwent_
an operation in the hospital on Sun-
day for the`amputation'of part of the
forefinger of her left hand. The finger
had become very painful and the trou-
ble was: thought to be caused by a
piece of glass from a broken dish.
Mr, S. Jacobs, who suffered a para-
lytic stroke on Wednesday last, is
considerably improved,
Miss Clara Pinkney has returned
home after holidaying in Toronto and
Hamilton.
Miss Sparks returned to Seaforth
Wednesday evening of this week after
spending the past six weeks at her

Friends of Mrs. Charles Dexter, of

their Citizenship meeting in the
school room of the church on Mon-
day evening, Feb. 27th. Kathleen
Snider, the citizenship convener, pre-
sided. The topic, "Choosing a Life
Partner," was very ably taken by

Andrew's United Church on Thurs-
day evening last by the Trail Rang-
ers of Se.. Andrew's Church was most
entertaining and largely attended.
Fifty-four fathers and sons did jus-
tice to the good things so bountifully
provided. After dinner a good pro-
gramme was carried out. Rev. Mr,
Conner acted as toast master and
the programme consisted of songa
by all. A well delivered and com-
prehensive report of the Seventh Old-
er Boys' Parliament held in Toronto
in December, was given by Mr, W.
Barber, of Seaforth, member of South
Huron. Mrs. E. Sproat and Miss
Scarlett rendered solos which were
greatly . enjoyed by all. Rev. W. A.
Bremner, from Brucefield, greeted the
Fathers and Sons and congratulated
them on the splendid . support given
the first fatherand son banquet at St.
Andrew's. In a very pleasing way he
told both lather and son the only
way to •keep that fellowship, one with
the other,. was to go down the trail
together. A vote of thanks was mov-
ed to the mothers of the Trail Rang-
ers and all who helped prepare the
banquet. Rev.. Mr, Bremner closed
the banquet with prayer. "O Canada"
was sung.
The play, "Wanted a Wife," will be
held of Tuesday, March 6, Come and
enjoy yourselves.
Three of our sportsmen, Cliff, Wat-
son, James Kilpatrick and Will. Kyle,
spent Saturday on a fox -hunt. They
were unsuccessful in bring any home,
but they saw two.
Miss Etta Bell, of London, spent
the week -end with her parents.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Grenville, of the
village motored to Detroit on Satur-
day and spent the week -end with
friends.
Mrs, J. W. McLean visited her sis-
ter Mrs. W. W. Cooper, of London.
About fifty men of the village of
.Kippen held a big rabbit drive on
Feb 28th and bagged about one hun-
dred rabbits.

A party is being given by several

on Wednesday evening.
Mrs. D. Aikenhead has been visiting

celebrated the 25th 'anniversary of
their wedding on Friday, 'Feb.' 24th.
A large number of friends and neigh-
bors gathered at their home in the
evening, and Mr. and Mrs, Dalrymple
were made the recipients of many
beautiful gifts, including a Coleman
tamp and a chest of community silver.
The evening was spent in dancing and
playing cards, everybody having a
real good time. We wish Mr, and
Mrs. Dalrymple many years more of
happiness and prosperity.
Mr, Richard Robins held his auc-
tion sale on February 27th. Mr,

ity, having purchased Mr. Henry'Hor.

they are getting ,back to normal
health.
Quite a number from here took in
the seed cleaning demonstration given
at ,Seaforth on Monday and report the
show well worth seeing, and that the
representatives used every courtesy in
answering questions. A good many
think it would be wise for the govern-

Mr. W. Bennewies has removed his
son from the Memorial hospital, Sea -
forth, after a successful operation. He
seems to enjoy his usual health, and
his many friends trust he will make
continued progress toward a full re-
covery.
Mrs. Thomas McKay has been re-
moved from.Seaforth .hospital to the
home of her parents and is now con-
valescing rapidly.
