Master Jackie Guenther, of Dashwood, spent the holidays with his grandparents, Mr, and leoliwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwinainnowwwsou Mrs, David Oesch and Bobby, ALBERT MaopgNALD A resident of Seaforth several years ago, Albert MacDonald, 05, formerly of Goderich and Wing• harp, died suddenly in Winnipeg Sunday, Dec. 25, Widely known to many CKNX listeners as "Cac- tus Mae," Mr, MacDonald was as- sociated with the original CKNX. Barn Dance group for many years as composer and vocalist. Born in Goderich, he resided there until 1935 when lie moved to Wingham and began his affilia- tion with the radio station. After leaving CKNX, he moved to Win- nipeg and bad resided there for past four years, Funeral services were held in Winnipeg Wednesday afternoon, Surviving Mr. MacDonald are two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. John Wilde, of Ripley, Ont- ario; Mrs, Charles Ross of Pint, Mich., Mr. Edward MacDonald, of Buffalo, New York, and Thurlow MacDonald, of Goderich. The annual school meeting was held last week and the school board are Wilbur Hoegy, Harvey Ahrens and Edwin Bach, Harold Rock is the retiring school trust- ee but is the secretary. Reuben Buuck was reappointed as care- taker and Mr. and Mrs, Harold Rock again appointed to be on the Monkton Fair. Board, Mr. and Mrs. Zech Elligsen and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Elligsen were in Chatham on Monday attending the funeral of Mr. Elligsen's sist- or Mrs. Alex Robertson who was the former Whilemine Elligsen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Elligsen, Her husband and one son Lorrain of Chicago predeceased her in 1958. She was in her 78th year and had been a patient in the St. Thomas Hospit- al for a year. The great majority of our farmers want to be farming in ten years from now, We may be too old but pre- fer the farmer's life. The changes we expect to see in our district will be a tendency toward larger farms, raising more of our own cattle as shipping expenses get higher, raising better crops with improved and new varieties of seed suitable for the locality and the use of more fertilizer., The farmers will be more careful in breeding the best stock.
