Dear liar. McGee, -Yesterday I
received the invitation to attend
the ,School Centennial, S,S, 3, of
Stanley Township. It brought
back old but fond memories of by-
gone days. It was nice to be re-
membered, and I thanit you for
remembering me.
I am a long way from Bayfield,
Ontario, and I have tried to visu-
alize just who will be present on
that occasion, It would be inter-
esting to meet my former pupils
and hear I hope of their success,
but distance makes the trip im-
possible.

Tho death occurred suddenly in
Seaforth on Friday evening of
Mr. Nial W, Murray, 60, of Mad-
eira, California, while on a visit
Isere, Mr, Murray had arrived on
Monday, having driven alone from
California to visit his sister, Mrs.
. Elliott Walters, Market street,
They had planned leaving on Sa-
turday for a holiday at Lions
Head, The deceased was a native
of Tuckersmitle township, being
a son of the late Mr. and Mrs,
John Murray. He served over-
seas in World War I with the
Princess Patricia Regiment, After
the war he went to the West
where he had since lived. Mr,
Murray had been in the banking
business for it number of years
but hacl been living retired lately.
His wife predeceased him a num-
ber of years ago. He is survived
by a step son, Wendell Scott, of
California, and one sister, Mrs.
Elliott Walters, Seaforth. He was
a member of the Masonic Lodge.
A short service was conducted
at the Box funeral chapel on Sat-
urday at 1 pin, by Rev. J. 0, Brit-
ton and the remains were sent by
the afternoon train to Seattle,
Wash„ for burial,

with two kind and very wonder-
ful ladies, the Misses Mary and
Kate Parke, and haven't forgot-
ten their good neighbors, the
Peck family and also Mr, and
Mrs. Dave IMcNaughtou.

unable to be in Ontario and be
present at this very interesting
celebration, We quite often visit
Ontario and on more than one
occasion we have driven to Bay-
field and then on out past the
school. 1 will be thinking of you
all on July 2, 30 Sept, last we
were in Bayfield and bail a nice

MRS. COLIN KENNEDY
Mrs, Colin Kennecly, 83, died
at Scott Memorial hospital Satur-
day, She was the formes Eliza-
beth Lamb, daughter 'of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Lamb. Af-
ter their marriage the couple re-
sided at Seaforth until moving to
I Western Canada in 19.15, Later
they moved to Fort William, and
in 1950 returned to Seaforth, :l'Is•,
!Kennedy died in 1956. Surviving
are two sister's, hlhs. James Rey-
' holds and Mrs. Theresa Ray both
of Seaforth. One son, Stephen,
(lied in 1941. Mrs. Kennedy was
a member of St, James' 'Roman
Catholic Church, amember of the
Catholic Women's League, the
Altar Society, of the Propagation
of Faith, Requiem High Mass was
sung by Rev. Thomas McQuaid at
,St. James' Church Tuesday at
9.30 a.m. Burial was in St. James'
cemetery,

on Wednesday the architect ex-
pected to call for tenders for con-
struction of the addition to the
Seaforth district high school this

Mayor B. F, Christie was taken
to the hospital on Sunday. He had
improved after his recent illness
and returned to the store at the
end of the week but suffered a re-
lapse, On Tueeday Mr, Christie
was reported to be somewhat im-
proved.
