Mr, and Mrs. John Nottingham,
Ladner, B.C., who 111114 been vis-
iting in the community and who
were former residents here show-
ed films Thursday evening in the
basement of the church. These
films showed beautiful scenery of
their home district and surround-
ing areas. Mr. Don Buchanan was
chairman for the evening and
other program consisted of read-
ings by Mrs. L. Lawson and Mrs.
B. Brown and a piano solo by
Miss Glenyce Jewitt. A vote of
thanks was extended by Mr, Bu-
chanan to Mr. and 1lrs. Notting-
ham for the films and their inter-
est in the community once again,

The WA of Constance LTnited
Church held their regular meet-
ing in the basement of the church
on Wect, evening, June 8. Mrs. L.
Lawson presided.' Mrs. F. Riley
and Mrs. 10. Lawson were appoint-
ed the committee to buy a new
carpet for the church. Mrs. B.
Brown presided over the WMS.
Scripture lessons were read by
Mrs, Frank Riley and Mrs. R.
MacGregor. Bible study was led
by Mrs. W. L. Whyte. A bale was
packed valued about $175, Mrs.
Nottingham was asked to say a
few words after which Mrs. Jew-
itt gave a piano solo, The study
book on general problems of Af-
rica was given by Mrs. Wilbur
Jewitt. Mrs. .Brown gave a stew-
ardship paper on finances. Mrs,
Wm, .Jewitt gave 5temperance
reacting. At the close Mrs. Frank
Riley and Mrs, B. Brown served
lunch,

er, visited ou Sunday with her
father, Mr. James Dale,

and Deanna attended the West
Counties' Guernsey twilight meet-
ing at Stapleton farm, Clinton,
Friday night.

4-11 Dairy Club class at Clinton
Fair on Saturday with her Guern-
sey heifer, Dalevista Royal Star.
Mr. Wm. Dale's Guernsey herd
won filet prize in the special class
for any dairy breed.

The last meeting until fall was
held Thursday evening in the
form of a pot -luck supper at the
home of Mise Dorothy Parke when
26 sat down to a bountiful table.
Mrs, 1lcGavin presided for the
meeting and opened by reacting
the scripture from St. John fol-
lowed by the Litany and prayers,
Mrs. R, Nott gave the minutes
and roll call and Miss Dorothy
Parke gave the treasurer's report.
A nice sum has already been re-
turned on the bakeless bake sale
with more to be turned in yet.
Letters were read from Miss Fow-
ler, 3Irs. Colbert and Mrs. South-
gate. The fall deanery will be
held in Seaforth. A large number
of articles were handed in by the
members to be sent to Cardston,
Alberta, as stocking fillers for the
children at Christmas. 'Mrs. Wm.
Oldfield gave the Dorcas report
and Mrs. Case reported for the
Social Service. The next meeting
will be held the evening of Sept-
ember Gth, The offering was re-
ceived and dedicated and Mrs.
McGavin closed with the Benedic-
tion. A hearty vote of thanks
was tendered the hostess for her
hospitality.

Group 1 W. A. of Northside Un-
ited Church met at the home of
Mrs. 3, Henderson on Tuesday
evening at 6,30 p.m. for a pot-
luck supper which was enjoyed
by all, There was an attendance
of 24 members and 4 visitors. The
meeting was then opened by the
president. .sirs. W, Cuthill read-
ing a poem, The strawberry sup-
per to be held on June 28th was
then discussed. The blue bags
were brought in at this meeting
of the first six months of the
year. Devotions were then taken
by lirs. Close with a readig,
"We can be Creators too". Mrs,
Adapts read the scripture fol-
lowed by prayer by Mrs. Trewar_
the, Miss Ruth Cluff sang e. love-
ly solo "Under His Wings". Mrs,
Barbara Dale was guest speaker
telling of her work as a nurse.
