Carol of, near Zurich have moved
into the residence of Mr. Allan Co-
chrane on the town line.
Mr. and Mr's. W. Jones and Brian
of St. Thomas were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones.
We are sorry to report Mrs. John
Alexander is confined to Clinton
Hospital.
MRS MARTHA J. M'ONTEITH
Martha Janet Monteith, former
Stanley twp. resident, and wife hof
the late Alexander Monteith, passed
away at the home of her nephew,
William Fotheringham, Tuckersmith
twp. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, in her
87th year. Born in Blanchard twp.,
she was a daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. William Fotheringham and
came to Tuckersmith quite young.
She married Alexander Monteith in
the year 1896 and farmed for some
time in Tuckersmith, 'then moving
to Stanley twp. where they resided
until his death in the year 1940.
She was an active member of the
Kippen United Church, also a Life
member of the W.M..S..
Surviving is one sister :(Bessie)

vices were held from the Beattie
Funeral Hone, Clinton, •on Satur-
day, Nov. 29, with the Rev. W. J.
Maines of Brucefield and Rev. -Mr.
McLeod of Kippen officiating. In-
ternment in Baird's Cemetery. Pall-
bearers were Mr. James Mustard
Sr., John I'Ienderson, Samuel Thom-
pson, John Fotheringham (Hamil-
ton), Hume Clutton (Goderich), Da-
vid Youngson (Granton).

Master Kenneth Ahrens, 6 year
old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Ahrens, had his tonsils and adenoids
removed at the Stratford General
Hospital last Thursday.
Mrs. Mary Dittmer, who has been
staying at the home of her daugh-
ter, Mrs. Arthur Bailey, Toronto,
for the past months, has now gone
to stay with another daughter, Mrs.
M. Meyerson at Havana, Cuba, for
the winter months.
Mrs. Louise Morenz of Mitchell
spent a few days with her brother
Charles Pushelberg and Mrs. Pushel-
berg.
Mrs, Harry Beuerman spent a
week with her daughter, Mrs. Alvin
Pryce and Mr. Payee at Kitchener.
Miss Peggy Pryce returned with
her for a few weeks.
Mr, and Mrs. Russell Knight, Mr,
and Mrs. Ross Knight of near Gran-
brook with Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Sholdice on Sunday.
Mrs, Louise Binz has gone to the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman
Bode and Mr. Bode for the winter
months.
The pastor Rev. W. Becker and
members of the confirmation class
of St. Peter's Lutheran Church en-
joyed bowling in Stratford on Satur-
day afternoon, after which lunch
was served in the church 'basement.
Mrs. Leslie Beuerman, Mrs; Ed-
ward Fischer and Mrs. Wni. Miller
visited Mr. and Mrs, Con Schwindt
at Poole on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Hinz spent
the weekend in Hamilton and Kitch-
ener.
