Quito a number from this com- munity attended anniversary ser- vices on Sunday in Londesboro Church, Mrs. Lorne Lawson has returned home after a week's visit with Mr. and Mrs, Jack Busby, Chatham. Mr. George Leitch is at present a patient in Scott Memorial Hospit- al, Seaforth. His many friends wish Min a speedy recovery, Mr. Reg. Lawson and his mother, Mrs. Earle Lawson, were in London on Monday, Mr. and Mrs. William Jewitt and family are getting settled in their new home they recently purchased from Mr. William Britton. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Adams spent Friday at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. K. P. Adams at Centralia. Mr. and Mrs; Reuben Jewitt of Kincaid, Sask., are visiting at the homes of their sons, Mr. Wm. Jew- itt and Mr. Wilbur Jewitt. Sincere sympathy is extended to Mrs. Ross McGregor in the death of her father, Mr. Ferguson, BRUCEFIELD Mrs. Hare. and Miss MaY nre Swan attended the wedding in Sudbury of the former's son, Wesley Ham. Hossie of Trinity United Church, Kitchener, gave two very impressive messages at the anniver- sary service here, Special music was provided by the choir, in which Mrs. (Rev.) Hossie assisted and also sang two solos. Rev. and Mrs, Hossie were guests of Rev. and Mrs. Maines and family. Mrs. H. Berry and Miss Gaye El- liott spent the weekend in Stratford with Mr. and Mrs. 'G. Griffiths. Congratulations to F/0. R. J. and Mrs. Dunn, its a son, Leslie Rae. VARNA Mr, John Hernwell of Goderich spent several days last week renew- ing acquaintances in and around the village. Mr. and Mrs, John Argo and family of Toronto spent the week- end at the home of Mrs. McConnell. The United Church will hold their service at 2 p.m., beginning N.ov,2 for the next six months, The W. A. of the United Churc'r will hold their annual bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 1 in the township hall. ST. COLUIVIBAN On Monday evening a euchre party, sponsored by the C.W.I.., was held in the parish hall with 20 tables in play. Winners were ladies' first, Mrs. John Murray, Men's first, Prank Murray; ladies' consolation, Mrs.. Jean Fortune; men's consola- tion, Frank Maloney. The prize for guessing the lucky number went to Louis Coyne. Following the cards lunch was served and a social hour spent.
