day for three weeks visit with her

Mr, and Mrs. Frank Thompson of

learn how much rain we have had
here, as there Was little or no rain
for two months at Toledo.

Toronto where she attended summer

satin and chantilly type lace, with

lengthwise panels of satin and lice
extended gracefully into a short
train, She wore a finger-tip em-
broidered tulle veil that was held with
a halo of seed pearls and sequins.
Her only ornament was a double
string of matched pearls, the gift of
the groom and she carried a front
cascade of Bettertime roses and
white gladioli and fleur-de-lis, It was
tied with streamer's of white ribbon.
Miss Elaine Richmond, Simcoe, aS
bridesmaid wore a floor -length dress
of pale green embossed organza with
Peter Pan collar and matching mit-
tens, She carried a colonial bouquet
of yellow roses and gladioli and wore
a head bandeau of yellow roses and
baby's breath. Wee Miss Marilyn
Pellow, Woodstock, cousin of the
bride, was the winsome flower girl
and wore a floor -length dress of yel-
low nylon, made with a prettily ruf-
fled collar. She carried a nosegay of
Sweetheart roses, Donald Pellow, the
bride's cousin, smartly attired in a
page boy costume, was ring bearer.
He carried this all important access-
ory on a silver plate which was dec-
orated
eiorated with blue and white bows and
sprays of sweet peas, Elgin Byers
was his brother's groomsinan, Tho
wedding music was played by Miss
Norma Potter, Woodstock, cousin of
the bride and during the ceremony,
Miss Marjorie Noack sang "The Wed-
ding
edding Prayer". Following the wedding
ceremony a reception was held for the
sixty guests. For the reception, Mrs.
McKay had chosen a navy mesh red-
ingote style dress with a shoulder
piece of gardenias. The buffet lun-
cheon was served by the Misses Juan-
itta and Juanna Lazenby, Wilma Pen-
ny and Yvonne Lampman, who were
directed by Mrs. H. C. Cayley and
Mrs. Alva Lampman, The bridal
table contained the four storied,
especially decorated wedding cake,
and was set with bouquets of sweet
peas and blue tapers in silver holders.
Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs,
E. N. Byers left for their honeymoon
trip to points in Northern Ontario.
For travelling the bride had chosen a
grey gabardine suit with green acces-
sories. Upon their return they will
live in Norwich. Out of town guests
were present from Ann Arbor, Mich.,
Hickson, 'Simcoe, Woodstock and
B urlington.

spending a week's holidays at Bay-
field.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Burns of
near Dublin spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Thornton.
Mr. and Mrs. C. Canner left on
Saturday for Brantford and will sail
back to London. England, on Thurs-
day.
Miss Pearl Reg_ele is still home with
her mother who has been under the
Doctor's care. We wish her a speedy
recovery.

James Wright '
James Wright, 73, prominent Kip -
pen resident, died Thursday after-
noon following a stroke which he
suffered early the same morning
while doing chores at the barn. Born
near Bowmanville, he had been a re-
sident of Kippen district 15 years.

He was a member of Carmel Presby-
terian Church, Hensall. Surviving
besides his wife, are two sons, Frank
at home and Gordon, Toronto and one
daughter, Mrs. Orland Reickert, lien-
sall; four sisters, Mrs. Herb Keroher,
Hensall; Mrs. Earl Ross, iScience
Hill; Mss, John H. Nichols, Toronto;
Mrs, Maude Dalton, Toronto and two
brothers, Howard, Cromarty; and
William, Washington, D.C.
Mr. T. N. Forsyth was found lying
on the floor of his home in a semi-
conscious condition from a heart at-
tack. Mr, Norman Long, mail courier,
noticed that two days' mail was un-
touched in the mail box and informed
a nephew, Mr, Duncan Cooper of
Kippen. Mr. Forsyth was removed to
Scott Memorial Hospital, Seaforth,
where his condition is improving. Mr.
Forsyth, a former well known school
teacher, is 80 and has been living
alone since the death of his wife.
Mrs, N. Dell of Toronto is renew-
ing old acquaintances in the neigh-
borhood.
Mrs. Chapman of Egmondville is
the guest of some relatives in the vi-
cinity.
Mr. and Mrs. Long of Kippen have
help in assisting with their bean crop.
