Mrs. Sophie Bennewies has been
visiting her niece, Mrs. Elmer Tuffin
and Mr. Tuffin at Toronto.
Word has been received by Mr. J.
P. Prueter of the sudden passing of
his brother-in-law, Mr. Edward Rats,
of Whateland, Manitoba. He was in
his 64th year. His wife was the
former Edith Prueter,
Misses Laurence Leonhardt and
Elizabeth Cook of Mitchell with Mr.
and Mrs. Chas Ahrens.
'Phe annual Sunday School picnic
was held on the school grounds on
Wednesday with ideal weather. A
fair crowd attended, There were
games, races and fish pond for old
and young. The men enjoyed horse-
shoe games. The swings were appreci-
ated by the kiddies. A good supper
was served in the church basement,

was decorated with blue, yellow, and
pink streamers, silver bells, and bou-
quets of roses and delphiniums. At
the 'reception later, the guests were
received by the aunts of the bride,
Miss Theresa O'Reilly, London, and
Mrs. John McCarthy, Sarnia, assisted
by the bridegroom's mother, Mrs.
John Walsh, Seaforth. Mrs. McCarthy
chose a dress of turquoise mesh, Miss
O'Reilly, a,dusky rose costume, and
Mrs. Walsh' a dress of figured blue
sheer. Each wore black accessories
and a corsage of red roses. Dimmer
was served to 45 guests at the Royal
Hotel, Mitchell, and in the evening
more than 100 well-wishers enjoyed
an evening of dancing on the spacious
lawn. Mr. and Mrs. Walsh left on a
honeymoon trip by ear through the
Muskoka district, They wore match-
ing navy blue shits, the bride choos-
ing navy' and white accessories and
0 corsage of red roses Guests were
present from Windsor, Sarnia, Lon-
