KiPPEN Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cudmore have returned home after a four week vacation in Vancouver. The trip was made by plane. Several from this district are talc- ing in the Western Fair in London this week. Mr. and Mrs. Beverley Beaton of Goderieh were Sunday visitors of Mr. Jonah Green. Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Meilis were Mr. and Mrs. Frank McConacher, Pat and Kather- ine of the RCAF Centralia and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Sims and family of London. Rev. and Mrs. N. Kyle opened the meeting with hymn 263. The scripture was read by Mrs. Morley Cooper. The Visiting Committee for the coining month will be Mrs. Wm. Caldwell and Mrs. J. N. McLean. Mrs. R. M. Peek agreed to be responsible for the church flowers for the remainder of Sept. Mrs. B. McGregor favored with the solo, Beyond the Sunset", accom- panied by Mrs. J. Sinclair. Twenty- five members answered the roll call by naming their first school teacher. There were several visitors. Mrs. Kyle gave a poem on birthdays. Mrs. Ralph Turner gave the study, Mrs. McGro(ror again favored ;with the solo, "My Task". The next meeting will be held the first Thursday even- ing in October at the home of Mrs. E. Kyle. Mrs. Kyle moved a vote of thanks to all taking part in the meeting. Mrs. E. Jarrott extended thanks to the hostess and co -hostess. The meeting closed with hymn 556 and the benediction by Mrs. Kyle. W. A. Meet The Woman's Association met fol- lowing the WMS last week. The pres- ident, Mrs. W. Workman opened the meeting with the Lord's Prayer. It was reported- the new floor had been laid in the manse kitchen. It was de- cided to hold a bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 20. A vote was held regarding a fowl supper which resulted, no fowl supper, so a canvass will be held right away. A dainty lunch was served, Rally Day to be Observed Ra1ly,Day services will be observed in Kippen United Church on Sunday, Sept. 19. All children are especially urged to be present and to report, in the Sunday School room at 10.45 so they may accompany their teach- ers into church. W.M.S. There were forty friends attended, and presented the bride -elect with a bridge table and chairs. The accompanying address was read by Miss Jean Mousseau. Contests were enjoyed and refresh- ments served. Mrs. George .Armstrong enter- tained a number of friends at a trousseau tea at her home on ,Satur- day afternoon and evening in honor of her daughter Betty, 'whose mar- riage will take place in the 'Hensall United 'Church on Saturday, Sept, 18, Mrs. Armstrong and Betty assist- ed by Mrs, Roy Frear of Grand (Bend, received the guests.
