Mrs, John Gordon and Mr. and
Mrs, James 'Scott of Sarnia were
weekend visitors at bhe home of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Dillon.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. ;Chas.
Williams: On May 8th after attend-
ing the lunch and reception of his
two brothers at Walkerton and Han-
over Lodge, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin
Sternall came to the latter's sister,
Mrs. Chas. Williams and Mr. Will-
iams of Dublin, and stayed till Mon-
day afternoon before returning to
their home in Highland Park, Mich.
This was the 50th anniversary of
their wedding. The Sternall borthers
were :married on the same day; their
wives were cousins. Also there were
Mr. William's cousins from Milver-
ton, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Riesor and
her brother, Archie and Mrs. Stover
accompanied them, returning Sunday
night.

Mrs. James IIogg has returned to
her hone in Collingwood after spend-
ing the past two weeks taking eareof
her daughter, Mrs, Bedford IDungey,
who was injured in a car accident.
The opening bingo has been post-
poned to Friday, June 4th,
Mrs. Thos. Phillips has returned
home from a visit to New York and
Newark, N.T., where she visited
friends and relatives.
Mr. William Murray is attending
the annual meeting of the Grand
Black Chapter and the Grend Orange
Lodge of Ontario West which is be-
ing held in Niagara Falls this week.
En route to the meeting Mr. Murray
met his nephew, Mr. Harold Wells
and his wife of Pontiac, 'Mich,
Mrs. Joseph Grummett attended
the funeral on Monday of her sister-
in-law, Mrs. Ernest Hutton, who
died unexpectedly in Kincardine
General Hospital, Saturday, 'where
she was a member of the staff.
Mrs. Annie Hilliard, of Florence,
N.S„ is visiting her son, Mr. Harry
Jessome,
Miss Mary Ryan, Preston, spent
the weekend at her home here.
Miss Eleanor Weaver, Port Credit,
spent the weekend with her grand-
mother, Mrs. McQuaig.
Mr, and Mrs. R. S. Box have re-
turned home after spending the
weekend in New Yorlc.
Miss Josephine McIver, St. Cath-
arines spent the weekend at her
home here, and attended the gradua-
tion in London of Miss Mary Lou

home from Stratford Hospital.
Alvin Chappell, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Filmer Chappell met with an
accident when riding the seed drill
on his father's farm. In some man-
ner ho caught his foot, receiving an
injury which required several etiebes,
Mr. Dan Storey received a painful
injury to his hand while cranking
the tractor at the farm of Mr, John
Wallace,
Mr. and Mrs. T, L. Scott attended
the graduation banquet held at Mit-
chell High School.
Miss Margaret Walker visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Fisher, Carlingford.

with Mr, and Mrs. Alvin Kemp.

At the May meeting of the Wo-
man's Missionary Society held on
Tuesday, May 11, Mrs, T. B. Baird
conducted the worship service on the
theme, The Gospel according to you,
The President, Mrs. W. J. Maines,
presided and after reading a poem
offered prayer for our missionary,
Miss Margaret Drummond, Central
India. Thankyou notes were read
from Rev. C. Cox, Mr. Will Scott and
Mrs. Maines. Also a letter was read
from the Readers' Digest in answer
to the protest sent regarding liquor
advertising in their magazine. A. solo
by Mrs. Gordon Richardson was
much enjoyed, and a splendid read-
ing on Christian Citizenship was giv-
en by Mrs. Norman Walker, Mrs.
Robert Allan and Mrs. H. Dalrymple
who attended the Presbyterial, held
recently in Seaforth, brought back
fine reports.
The program, The Christian in His
Vocation, taken from the Willigen re-
port of the conference held in Ger-
many was in charge of Mrs. A.
Zapfe. Others assisting were Mrs. A,
Ham, Mrs. Douglas, Mrs. H. Aiken -
head and Mrs. E. Johnson. Mrs. W.
Douglas who made herself a Life
Member received her certificate, The
President closed the meeting with
prayer.
A very successful bake sale was
held by the Society on Saturday af-
ternoon in aid of the expense fund
when $34.00 was realized.
The May meeting of the W. A.
was held on May 4th. The scripture
lesson was read by Miss E. Bowey.
Topic "Christian Family Life" was
taken by Mrs. Ham. Thankyou card
from Mrs. Baird and Mrs. Maines.
It was decided to have members of
Wesley Willis W. A., Clinton, for
visitors day. Mrs. Christie and Mrs.
Haugh in charge of flowers for the
church for May.
DUBLIN
The Dublin subdivision of the
Catholic Women's League met in
the Continuation School on Wednes-
day evening' with 35 persons in at-
tendenee. Mrs. Earl Healy, the presi-
dent opened the meeting with pray-
er, Miss Margaret Flanagan, the
secretary, read the ininutes, and
Mrs. Louis Looby gave the financial
report. It was decided to hold a, sup-

gave a short talk and a short 'pro-
gram and selections on harmonicas
were provided by the pupils of the
school. The president then called on
Mrs, Jack Meagher, who served as
president for three years, to come
to the front. An address was read to
her by Miss Rita Ryan, and a rosary
was presented. Mrs. Meagher made
an appropriate reply. Lunch was
then served, Mrs. Earl Healy and
Mrs, Michael Nagle attended the con-
vention held in Chatham on May
16-18.
