The May meeting o1' the Walton
Women's Association rnet on Thum
dayafternoon at 2 p.M. in the base-
ment. The meeting opened with the
President • Mrs, Love in the chair,
Scripture reading, Proverbs 22: 6;
Luke 27, 30; Luke 29: 52. Hymn 294
was then sung. See, report was read
and approved, also several thankyoe
cards, Trees, report was then given
by Mrs, A, Coutts, Moved 'by Mrs.
N. Reid, seconded by Mrs. Leeming
that Mrs. Sntalldon be put on flower
committee in Mrs. Dalton's place.
Mrs. Love .moved a vote of thanks to
the ones that helped at the W,A,.an
May 5th, also Mrs. Thomas thanked
the ladies for Mrs, Donnelly for the
lovely dinner served. Eighteen tildes
received for shutins. Moved -by Mrs,
T, Leaning, seconded by Mrs. Small-
don, that the admission for Garden
Party be 75c and 40c. The date for
Garden Party to be June 23rd.
Flowers to be put in church, the
same groups at the same time as last
year. The meeting closed with prayer'.
The May meeting of the Walton
C,G.I,T. was held in the basement of
the church on May 6th at 8 o'clock.
Mary Dennis opened the meeting 'by
the -call to worship and this was fol-
lowed by the singing of hymn 115.
Audrey Haokwell then read the scrip-
ture after which our leader, Mrs.
Doreen McCreath gave an interest-
ing topic on the last two inspirations
of the Bible. hymn 256 was then
sung, The minutes of the last meet-
ing were read and seconded by June
I3acicwell, The next meeting is to be
held
on May 16 in the Walton School.
The CGIT Girls' mothers and Miss
Steckle will -be present, Hymn 285
was then sung, Mary Dennis closed
the meeting with prayer.
The WMS of Walton United
'Church was held in the basement of
the church with Mrs. W. Cuthill pre-
siding. This was followed by a pray.
er. hymn 350 was sung followed by
scripture reacting. The minutes of the
last meeting were read and approved,
followed by the roll call. Mrs, H.
Kirkby read a card from a well
known missionary. Miss Clark, who is
at present 00 a vacation. An invite -
tion to attend a meeting at Win-
throp was accepted. This was moved
by Mrs:. N. Reid and seconded by
Mrs. G, McGavin, A report of the
Presbyterial in Seaforth was given by
Mrs. G. McGavin and Mrs. Jack Mc-
Donald. Mrs. H. Birkby presented al
worthwhile topic which was enjoyed
by all. The meeting closed with sing -1
ing Hymn 384.
HULLETT
Mothers' Day Service was held in.
Burns' United Church on Sunday,
May 9th at 11:30 a.m. Rev. J. T.
White, pastor of the Church assisted
by Mr, George Watt, Sunday School
Superintendent had charge of the
service. The Church was lovely with
Spring flowers and a large crowd at-
tended the service. The choir rend-
ered special music under the direc-
tion of Miss Beth McEwing. A lovely
solo was sung by Miss Myrtle Knox.
Mrs. Ed Bell and Mrs. Carmen Moon
rendered•an appropriate duet. Moth -
ars' Day readings were given by Miss
Marjorie McEwing and 'Carmen Ri-
ley. Eleven babies were baptized at
this service namely: Joseph White,
son of Mr. and Mrs. White and
grandson of Itev. and Mrs. J. T.
White. Barbara Joan and Connie Ar-
lene Howatt daughters of Mr. and
Mrs. James Howatt. Janette Su-
sanne and Raymond Howard Riley,
daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs.
Alex Riley, Peggy Louise Govier,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
