J. M, Scott gave current events
which was followed with the Lord's
Prayer in unison,
The Ladies' Aid meeting followed
with Mrs. Houghton presiding. The
work committee reported all mater-
ial for bazaar work distributed. The
meetings closed with the National
Anthem. Refreshments were served
by the hostess.
Mrs. T, Laing has returned home
from Seaforth Hospital and is recov-
ering from her recent operations.
Mrs. Lindsay McKellar visited with
relatives in Seaforth on Monday.
The World's Day of Prayer Ser-
vice was ,observed in 'Cromarty
Church on Friday with the ladies of
,Staffa Church present. Mrs, Lloyd
Sorsdahl led the service assisted by
Mrs. Arthur Kemp, who (prepared
this year's service, The address of
the afternoon "The Abundant Life”
was given by Mrs. Daynard of Sta-
fa. Prayers were offered by Mrs.
Lyle Worden, Mrs. Ruby Reid, Mrs.
Alvin Worden, Mrs. Duncanson, Mrs.
T. Scott Sr., and Mrs. Jas. Miller,
Mrs. Wm. Miller and Mrs. Henry
Ilarburn accompanied the singing
of the hymns and a duet "Saved by
Grace" was sung by Mrs. T. L. Scott
and Mrs, K. McKellar.
Miss Marguerite Duncanson, Tor-
onto, accompanied by a family
friend, Mr. John Morrison, also of
Toronto, visited on Sunday with
Rev, and Mrs, Duncanson,
Mr. Gordon Houghton and Miss
Shirley Gale, London, visited on Sun-
day with his mother, Mrs. M.
Houghton,
Miss Eva Jefferson, Mitchell,
spent the weekend with Mr, and Mrs.
Robert Laing.
Mr. Oswald Walker has returned
from a three -months' trip to the
Western Coast.
Cromarty Farm Forton met Mon-
day evening, March 15, for their
meeting and after a discussion period
the questionaire for next year was
filled out, Winners for euchre were
ladies, Mrs. Otto Walker, Mrs. Harry
Norris. Gents, John Hoggarth, Floyd
Dow. Lucky cup, Bert Riley. Wed-
nesday, March 17th was the date set
for the box social, euchre and dance
to be held in Cromarty School with
Munroe Farm Forum invited guests,
in charge will be Mr. and Mrs. H.
Dow.

Mrs. Jack Werstine and daughter
Cheryl of Galt, are visiting this week
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Botham Jr. Mr. Werstine is in Tor-
onto attending the annual conven-
tion of the Coca-Cola 'Cempany Ltd.
The many friends of Dr. F. Har-
burn are pleased to learn he is im-
proving nicely and will be able to
return home the latter part of this
week.
Mrs. John Patterson, East William
St., was called home to Goderich last.
Friday due to the sudden illness lot
her father, Mr. John W. Bell, Ile
passed away Sunday March 14, in
his 79th year.
Miss Josephine McIver of St. Oath-
erines, spent the weekend with her
parents here.
Miss Hilda Kennedy, London,
spent the weekend with her mother,
Mr, Jack Dorrance of St. Cathar-
ines, spent the weekend with 'his
mother, Mrs. Mae Dorrance.
Mr, and Mrs. Edgar Masse and
Mr. Joseph Michael, of Detroit, were
weekend guests of Mr, and Mrs.
John Aubin,
Mr. Allan Ryan, Ottawa, spent the
weekend with his aunt, I'Lrs. T. O'-
Loughlin.
Mr. and Mrs. John Aldington and
Margaret and Frank, of Varna, spent
Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Thos. Ald-
ington.
DUBLIN
A capacity crowd of parents and
friends attended the open house
held at the Continuation School on
Friday evening on the observance of
Education Week. Many exhibits of
Art and Craft work executed by the
students decorated the classrooms
and the Assembly hall. The class-
room displays were mainly of draw-
ing and painting and Essay Books.
At nine p.m. a program was put on
by the students in the assembly hall
opening with several harmonium se-
lections by a group of the students
under the direction of Mother Anas-
tasia. Mother Angela Merici gave a
very interesting talk on Education
as of today in regard to the parents,
teacher and child in sending out into
the world better citizens in their
different professions. Marie Bolton
followed with the history of the Ur-
suline Order and the Educational
facilities they have today in Ameri-
ca, This followed with piano and vo-
cal selections of the different grades
and several short skits.

CROMARTY
The March meeting of the Wo-
men's Missionary Society was held at
the home of Mrs. J. M. Scott with 15
members present. Mrs. M. Lamond
presided and led in devotions. The
president, Mrs. Lloyd Sorsdahl had
charge of the business period when
it was decided to use the program
prepared in the Glad Tidings, at the
Easter meeting. A filen strip will also
be shown, and special music provid-
ed, The topic "Let not your hearts
be troubled" was given by Mrs.

The regular meeting of the Tuck-
ersmith Ladies' Club was held at the
home of Mrs. Ernie Crich on Wed.
March 10th with Mrs. Bill Pepper
presiding. The meeting opened with
the Ode, followed by the Lord's
Prayer. The song, `Believe me of all
those Endearing Young Charms",
was sung after which the minutes of
the last meeting were read and ap-
proved. The roll call "My Favourite
Pastime", was answered by 14 mem-
bers and 10 visitors. Reports were
heard from various committees and
a "thankyou" note was read from
Mrs. A. Townshend. Several items of
business were discussed, Plans were
made for a euchre party to be held
in Agricultural Board rooms in Clin-
ton on Friday, March 19th. It was
decided to send donations of $10.00
each to the St, John's Ambulance
Fund and the Cancer Fund. An Irish
program followed with group 1 in
charge. An Irish contest was con-
ducted by Mrs. Warren Whitmore
and a humorous reading, "Down on
the Farm" was given by Mrs. Christ-
ena Brown. Mrs. Ernie Crieh favored
with a selection on the piano, "Moth-
er Machree". A flower contest was
conducted by Mrs. Alden Crich.
Mrs. Howard Johns gave an inter -
sting demonstration on making bias
inding. The meeting was brought to
close by singing "Londonderry
Air", and repeating the Homemakers'
Prayer. A tasty lunch was served by
the hostess assisted by group No. 1.

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Dining and son
of London were weekend visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander
and daughter.
Mrs. Stewart Bell, who has bean
confined to her room owing to ill-
ness is improving.
Miss Jean Armstrong of London
spent the weekerfd with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Geo, Armstrong and
Miss Betty Armstrong.
