On 'Nov. 9th the Fireside Farm
Forum met at .the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Babcock with 24 adults
present. The broadcast, farm guide
and discussion period were on
"Partners All", "Farm wives as
Working partners". The majority be-
lieved that cooperation between a
farmer and his wife should`include,
planning the farm business, plann-
ing farm expenditures, helping with
outside work to a limited extent, a
farm wife should not be a farm
slave or a hired help without pay.
She should not ruin her health or
neglect her children or house work to
assist outdoors. But almost all wo-
men in our community help outside
and believe the men should co-oper-
ate by moving 'heavy furniture dur-
ing house-cleaning, help hang wall-
paper, assist at the gardening, etc.
Both should help cheerfully when
help is needed. Both should snake.
wills. We believe farm wives should
try to keep informed on farming
techniques and marketing problems,
and take an intelligent interest in
the farm business. This promotes a
more cooperative feeling and often
pays dividends, Frequently the farm-
er is in the fields and the wife can
relay information she hears on the
radio, important farm talks, markets
and reports from the Ag. Rep. The
majority think that tractors should
not be driven on the roads by anyone
who does not own a driver's permit
for a car, but that very few tractors
are used often enough on the roads
to warrant then requiring a license.
Mrs. Robert Jamieson invited the
group to her home for next week.
