With the appointment of a nom-
inating Committee, including Mrs.
Louis Looby, Miss Margaret Flana-
gan and Mrs. Maurice Ryan, the
April meeting of the Catholic Wo-
men's League, Dublin, ended a suc-
cessful year. Mips. John Meagher
was re-elected president for the third
year, Her executive includes Mrs.
Stella Curtin, 1st vice pres„ Mrs.
Patrick Ryan, 2nd vice pres., Miss
Molly O'Connell, 3rd vice pres., Mrs.
Louis Looby, Treas„ the Sec. will
be named at the May meeting. Aft-
ter the slate of officers was brought
in, Mrs, Meagher thanked the nom-
inating committee. Rev. Father
Ffoulkes commended the subdivision
on its achievements during the .past
year and in a brief talk stressed the
importance of good leadership in
the C.W.L. Activities during the
year included card parties, social
evenings, cash binges, turkey bingo
and ham supper. There are 115
members and 8 honorary members.
Mrs, John Meagher and Mrs. Wm.
Stapleton represented the subdivi-
sion at the diocesan Convention at
London. 'A successful financial
statement was presented by Mrs.
Martin Klinkhammer. The establish-
ment of a blood bank will be con-
sidered at a future meeting. An invi-
tation to a Deanery tea, to be held
in St. Joseph Parish Hall, Stratford,
on Sunday, April 26, was read by
the Secretary, Mrs. Earl Healy. The
tea will conclude with a Holy Hour
in St. Joseph's Church, Stratford,
7 to 8 Sunday'evening. The retiring
executive are Mrs. Louis Bruxer,
Mrs. Wm. Stapleton, Mrs. Martin
Klinkhammer, and Mrs. Earl Healy.

At a well attended and enthusias-
tic meeting of representatives of
nine credit unions in the Stratford-
Seaforth-Clinton area, held April
20th the Stratford and District
Credit Union Chapter was organized.
