WINTHROP
Rev, H. E. Livingstone delivered
a very inspiring Easter sermon in
Cavan United Church Easter Sun-
day morning. The choir rendered
special music which was greatly ap-
preciated. Easter Lillies and other
flowers added color to the service.
In the evening the Young People,
both Junior and Senior had charge
,of the service, the president, Mac
Bolton was in charge, assisted by
Leslie McSpadden, who led in prayer
and Jimmie Axtman, who read the
scripture lesson. The choir was un-
der the direction of Lorraine Smith,
who presided at the organ. A solo
by Mrs. Fred McGregor, a duet by
by Lois Ann and Joan Somerville,
also a duet by Lorraine Smith and
Oliver Pryce, all of which were well
rendered. An exceptionally fine pa-
geant, "Morning with the Master”
perfectly enacted, was put on by the
Junior girls. Mrs. Toll and Mrs.
Doig who instructed the girls are
worthy of special mention. After
the Pageant, Rev. H. E. Livingstone
proceeded with the .dedication of the
newly installed electric organ, after
which he delivered a -very inspiring
message to the young people, urg-
ing then to have a purpose in life,
but first give God Ms rightful place
int their lives. Preceding his re-
marks, Mr. Livingstone congratulat-
ed the young people who are ye-
sponsible for the organ, having paid
for it through their own endeavours
and suggesting that a plaque be
placed on the organ to commemor-
ate their achievement. Mr. Living-
stone closed the meeting with the
'Benediction.
The Play "Abigail goes Haywire"
will be put on in Cavan Church,
Winthrop, on Monday, April 13.

The sympathy of the community

late Leslie Beuermann.
The funeral of Leslie Beuermann,
55, of McKillop was held on Satur-
day morning with service at the
home at 10 o'clock and then at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church at 10.30.
Rev. Walter Becker conducted the
service. There were many floral tri-
butes and memorial cards. Inter-
ment took place in the adjoining
cemetery. The flowerbearers were
nephews: Harvey Beuermann, Alt -
red Beuermann, .Stanley Beuermann
and Robert *euermann, Nelson
Kahle, Ross Kahle, Ray Beuermann,
Wayne Beuermann, Leonard Miller.
Pallbearers were neighbors, Charles
Dietz, Mervin Dietz, Fergus Horan,
Jerry Doerr, Harry Regele, Charles
Eggert. Friends and relatives were
present from Palmerston, Milverton,
Kitchener, Stratford, Milton, Galt,
Walton, Brussels, Mitchell, Seaforth
and Monkton. He is survived by
his wife, the former Toleda Miller,
three daughters, Mrs. Wilber Cham-
bers (Rose) Seaforth; Joanne and
Mayda at home, five brothel's and
one sister.
The junior and senior choirs of
St. Peter's Lutheran Church pres-
ented a program of Easter music on
Good Friday evening under the dir-
ection of Mr. Calvin Diegel. The
church was filled for the Easter
service on Sunday.
The Luther League members pre-
sented their three short plays at
Bethesda United' Church, Logan, on
Tuesday evening.

The WMS of S. Andrews United
Church met on Wednesday after-
noon at the home of Mrs. A. Mc-
Murtt'ie with Mrs. R. M. Peck as co -
hostess. The president, Mrs. John
Sinclair opened the meeting with a
prayer and a poem. The Lord's
Prayer was repeated in unison.
Mrs, Bert Faber had charge of the
Worship period reading ;lith chap-
ter of Mark, verses 1-7. Mrs, R. M.
Peck gave an Easter Poeni, Thirty-
one members answered the roll call
and there were 15 visitors.
An invitation was read and ac-
cepted to attend the WM-S in James
St. United Church, Exeter, on April
15th. Mrs, Emerson Kyle reported
for the visiting committee having
called on Mrs. G. E. Thomson, Mrs.
Susie Workman, Mrs. Stephenson,
Mrs. C. Switzer, 'Mrs. Tomlinson,
Mrs. McGlymont, They also called
on. Mrs. Elmore Turner who has a
new baby. Mrs. Robt. Elgie and. Mrs,
J. W. McLean are the visiting com-
mittee for April, Mrs. Wm, Kyle,
Mrs, John Henderson sang two du-
ets accompanied by Mrs. Ross
Broadfoot at the piano. The guest
speaker was Mrs. (Rev.) Moores of
Thames Road, who spoke on "Who
shall roll away the Stone", Mrs. E.
Kyle moved a vote of thanks to the
speaker, •Mrs, Barry •Caldwell and
Mrs. J. Sinclair 'extended thanks to
the hostess and those taking part.

Sunday morning for special Easter
,Service and communion. Rev. Nor-

fine address on "The New Life".
Twelve young people joined the
church on .profession of faith and

Special music vas furnished by
the choir under the leadership of
Miss Jean Ivison and chose for their
anthem "1 Know That My Redeemer
I,iveth". Miss Gotta Benindyk sang
the solo "Before the Dawn", At
7;30 in the evening the choir pre-
sented the Cantata "The Easter
Guest", Mr. Don Bell took the solo
part. Carol ;Mchlurtrie and Ann
Sinclair sang duet parts,
Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Hayter of
Pontiac, Mich., spent the weekend
with the latter's sister and brother-
in-law, Mr, and Mrs, Alf Moffat.

EGMONDVILLE
The Egmondville WMS and WA
met on March 25th. It was the Baby
Band meeting. Mrs. Gardiner open-
ed the meeting with a poem, "Jesus
Blesses the Children". A hymn was
sung, followed by prayer by Mrs.
Elmore -Stephenson, who read a
poem "At Mother's Knee". Scrip-
ture reading by Mrs. W. F. McMil-
lan, prayer by Mrs. Earl Dapple.
Mrs. Gardiner welcomed all the
mothers and babies. She also spoke
on the theme, "Bringing the Little
Ones to Jesus". There was a short
program by the children followed
by a story by Miss Rena Mckenzie.
'Minutes of both WMS and WA were
read and adopted. Mrs. Gardiner
presented the Baby Band with a
cradle roll. Hymn 588 was sung and
benediction by Mrs. Gardiner. There
were 28 children present.
