The W. A, of St..George's Church
held a Social- at the home of Mr. and
Mrs, C. Pollard with a good crowd in
attendance. Tie first 'part of the
evening was spent by everyone play-
ing 'Court Whist, the prizes being
won by 'Plies Proctor for the _ladies
and Mr. Bert :Anderson for the Wren.
The consolation prizes went to Miss
Annie Craig and 'Mr. H. Bolger. A
short but delightful program was give
en, consisting of: Community sing-
ing with the ladies against the men, in
which everyone ''joined with much en-
thusiasm; guitar selections by .Misses
Beth Shannon and Mary Humphries;
a dialogue entitled, '"Please 'Pasts the
Cream" was given by Miss Marguer-
ite Bolger and Mrs, .Edgar Hollinger,
followed by a #Reading by Miss Proc-
tor. :Mrs. 'Graham gave a delightful
organ solo; a duet by Mary Humph-
ries and Beth 'Shannon. The prog-
ram closed withcommunity singing.
The most itnportant part of the even-
ing followed with Mrs.: lI-Iumphries
introducing the two waist measurers
of the evening, 'Miss Proctor and Mr,
Hugh Shannon. 'As Mr. Graham call-
ed the names of these present they all
came forward with a smile to be mea-
sured, w'hich reported good proceeds
for the evening. The evening closed
by the hostess serving a dainty' lunch.
Everyone reported a good time. A
hearty vote of thanks was given to
all those who tool: part in the pro-
gram and to the host and hostess.

came to Canada along with his broth-
er. 'Edgar. who passed on twenty
years ago. ,1-1c 'made hi home with an
uncle ani aunt, Captain and Mrs. Ge -
gen, at lot 7, con. 9, Ffullett, where 'he
hart ,ince 'lived. In 1%132, he married
Ellen Stewart who predeceased 111111
sixteen years ago. Ile \vas a man of
upright life and sterling character.

with whom he dived, and Mrs. William
Jewitt on a neighboring 'Hallett farm,
