Agriculturists Serther recognition of the annual international* Plowing Match and Farm Machinery iDemonstration held each year in Ontario ander the aus- pices of the Ontario Plowmen's Asso- ciation has !just been announced by J. A Carroll, manager. The Ablantic section of the Ameri- can Society of Agricultural Engin- eers, according to Mr. •Carroll's state- ment, has made arrangements to hold its annual convention •in Toronto this year at a time when they will he able to devote a considerable portion of their time to studying this renowned agricultural event, which each year is having its 'fame carried farther afield. The plowing match is ,being held this year at Fergus from Oct. 4e to 15 in the cetetre of Western Ontario, which has been .described as '"the 'best large farming area .in Canada". IThe A.S.A.E, is a 'body of agricul- tural experts which represents chem- ical, electrical and machinery organ- izations interested in farm problems. It also includes in its 'membership many agricultural experts from state colleges throughout the Atlantic sea- boand. In considering a suitable time and place •for rthe convenbion, the directors of this .noted association found that almost every aspect ref the activities in which they are interested will be included in the annual plowing 'match at Fergus. There they will be able to study many rquestione of farm eultivation and management which, for genera- tions, have kept Ontario farmers ,in the front ran.k of successful agrietil- turists. ARMSTRONG PASSES AT MITCHELL Mitchell and community mourn the passing of a beloved 'physician and mast highly esteemed citizen in the pennon of William 'John 'Malcolm Armstrong, MID., who passed away on Tuesday at his 'home in Mitchell. Dr. Armstrong had .beeu ailing for the past year. but Was able to be around until the last 'few weeks when he became bedfast. Dr, 'Armstrong was horn at Bayifickl, !December 73, 18157, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs, 'James Armstrong. In the year I:&$9 he graduated from the Univer- sity of Toronto following which he took a post graduate course at 'Belle- vue medical college, New York city. Dr. Armstrong practised in li'rull.anton village for nine years alter which he came to 'Mitchell and 'purchased the (practice of Dr. IE. 'G. Wood.
