Morris Pioneer Laid to Rest,—
On Thursday morning, June '3rd,
death tclaimed the old -est resident of
-Morris toweuvhip and the last of a pio-
neer fancily in the person of Mir.
Tames 'Kelly. Mr. Kelly had enjoyed
remarkably good health until a little
over two years ago but since that
time had been less active but never-
theless able to be .about. He received
a stroke on 'May llSth and was con-
scious •ou'ly attimes from thenuntil
his death. Born in Tipperary, 'Ireland,
02 years ago last 'February, lie carte
to Canada with his parents, the late
John and Margaret Kelly, and other
members of the family when only
frnur years of age. Anter living near
Ottawa for six years, the -fancily mov-
ed to Morris township where he has
resided ever since on 'tile farm on
vvltirh he died. Mr. IKelh• was a nialt
of exceptionally 'fine personal quali-
ties, ever ready to assist a neighbor
in need and had +bitt one motive in
life, namely, a tigware deal for his fel-
low man, and during his IO2 years as
resident of (Morris, he never had an
unkind word ,with anyone with -whom
he came in ,contact, :He was married
67 years ago last 'January to 'Elden
Phelan who predeceased him two and
a half years ago, the day after they
had celelbrated their 65lth wedding arc-.
