where he underwent an operation

Mr. Silas IJiohns, a life-long resident
of this ,community, died at 'the home

near C'hiselhurst on Tuesday evening
of last week. IA short ,service was
held last Friday. at their home and
then in the church here. interment in
the cemetery here.

Mr. R. Penhale and Mr. Cltas, Fal-
coner were in an accident on No. 4
Highway last Friday. i\lr. Falconer
received several severe cuts about the
head. Mr. ,Penhale also ,received mi-
nor injuries. ,Mr. Falconer was taken
to Goderich the next day and the lat-
est reports are that he is improving.
'The •Orange Lodge held a very en-
jol able dance in the town hall last
'Friday night.
Rev, Bugler and Rev. Gale were in
London on Monday.
Dr. MadNeill arrived .in Bayfield on
Monday and has opened an office in
the 'Elliott block.
Mr. L, Fowlie of London spent
Sunday with his sisters, the Misses
Fowlie.
Mrs. W. Howard of Detroit is vis-
iting her sister, Mrs, Geo. Castle, Sr.

Try This Appetising Recipe
BAKED CREAM SALMON
1' Va db. can Canadian salmon
1 pint milk
Salt and pepper 2tbsps. butter
2 ,baps. flour. Grated onion
Free the salmon from bones and separate
into bits. Cook the flour and butter to-
gether without browning, and add one
pintof milk, salt and pepper and enough
grated onion to flavour delicately. Place
leer of sauce in a baking dish, then a
layer of fish and so on, having sauce on
top. Bake to a golden brown and serve
very hot. -

Chop together cold boiled potatoes .one
small onion, the contents of one tin of
Canadian sardines (drained); fry with..
