wedding took place en Saturday,

the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles H. Manning, Londesborough,
when their younger daughter, Elsie
Hazel, became the bride of Mr. Jos-
eph R. Shaddick, eldest son of lir,
and Mrs. [Richard Sh'add'iok of Hull-
ett. Rev. A. W. 'Gardiner of Londes-
borough officiated. Promptly at 3
o'clock to the strains of the wedding
march played ley Miss Dorothy Little
of ,Londesborough, the bridal party
took ,their places before a 'bank of
ferns and gladioli, the bride entering
ou the arm of her father, by whom
she was given in marriage. The 'bride
looked charming in a floor length
gown of ivory satin with long taper-
ed. sleeves, puffed to the elbows, with
a silk veil caught up with a wreath of
orange blossoms and carrying a 'bou-
quet of IBriarcliffe roses and maidea
hair fern. I-Ier only attendant \vas her
niece, little Miss i ran'ces ILyon, who
wore a dress al pale blue organdie and
carried a basket of sweet peas with
long ribbon streamers. After the cer-
emony the bride led the way to the
dining room where a dainty buffet
luncheon was served by two girl;
friends of the bride, Miss Helen
Johnston and Miss 'Belle Nott, The
dining room was prettily decorated in
pink and white streamers leading to
the table on the centre of which stood
the' bride's cake flanked with tall white
tapers in silver holders. Later in the
afternoon Mr. and Mrs, IS'h'addic'k left
by motor amid showers of rice and
confetti ,for a honeymoon trip to be
spent in Ottawa, Montreal and the
Eastern States. The 'bride travelled in
a brown and plaid ensemble with
brown felt hat, 'brown shoes and ac-
cessories to match. Upon their return
they will .be at home to their many
friends at Londesborough,

'Last Sunday a hit and run driver
struck awe of Tommy Murray's .cows
and broke its leg, aid its likely the
cow- will' have to be destroyed. The
cows were in charge of one of the
boys, driving them to pasture, but
the little fellow did mot get the num-
ber of the car, Some of the tteigh'bors
got a description of the car, and with
this clue, they are investigating.
