Mcqueen was the setting of a very
pleasant evening last Thursday when
sixty neighbors and friends gathered

Helen, 1MIrs. Dick Parke and Mrs,
Thos. Brintnell directed the even-
ieg's entertainment, featuring piano
selections by Miss Doris LKercher,
readings by Velma Ferguson, Mrs,
Eldon Miller played accordion selec-
tions. 'Mr. Harry Hoffman of Dash-
wood contributed vocal solos accom-
panied by Miss Florence Welsh at
the piano. Bingo games were enjoy-
ed. During the evening the bride's
trousseau was displayed. by Miss Jean
McQueen, Miss Margaret Glenn and
Mrs. Cal Horton. The bride was pre-
sented with a chair and a table, to
which she made a fitting reply of
thanks, All joined in singing; "For
She's a Jolly Good Fellow," Refresh-
ments were served.
Mrs. John Pfaff is visiting with
relatives in London this week.

Wohelo Class Makes Presentations -
The Wohelo Class held their regu-
lar meeting in the school room of
the church on Friday night. Miss
Edna Saundereock presided and the
meeting opened by a hymn and pray-
er. Miss Elva McQueen read the
scripture, The topic was ably taken
by Miss Gladys Luker. Mrs. Hess
and Mrs. Hedden sang 'I Love You
Truly," "Feather Your Nest," and
"Coming In On the Wings of Pray-

Church Mission Circle enjoyed a pic-
nic at the lovely grove of the Miss
McEwan's half a mile west of Hen-
sall on Monday evening. A most de-
licious lunch was served after which
community singing was enjoyed, dir-
ected by Miss Florence Welsh, The
Bible reacting, Psalm 121, was read
by Mrs. Lorne Chapman, and the de-
votional. "Constructive Living" was
ably presented by Miss Gladys Luk-
er. It was decided to send the lay-
ette to the Frederick Mission in Tor-
onto. Mrs. R. Drysdale was hostess
and Miss Edna Saundercock had
charge of the devotional period. The
roll call was answered with "My Fa-
vorite Game." Games were directed
by Mrs. P, McNaughton. The even -
big was a great success and much
enioyed by all.
The anniversary services of the
Hensall United Church will be ob-
served Sunday next, June 20 at 11
o'clock in the morning and 7 in the
evening. Plans are under way to
make this event one of the happiest
in the history of the church. The
public will be made welcome at both
services. Splendid music will be pre-
sented by a large choir. Mr. Carey

Members of the Naval, Military or Air Forces of 'Canada who are on
duty outside the Province at the date of any •election to the Legislative As-
sembly of Ontario, who are British subjects and who were resident in Can-
ada for three months and.,in Ontario for thirty days prior to the date of their
enlistment are entitled to appoint an agent to vote for them at any election
to the Legislative Assembly.
The Proxy vote cast for an Active Service Voter must be polled for a
oandidate•in the Electoral District in which the Active Service Voter resided
for at least thirty days prior to his enlistment.
The Agent authorized to vote for an Active Service Voter must be en-
titled to vote in the same Electoral District and must be of the full age of
twenty-one years.
Agents holding appointments as Proxies for Active Service Voters must
apply to the Revising Officer for their Electoral District for confirmation of
their appointment. '
There is no age qualification for the Active Service Voter.
An Agent may hold any number of appointments from voters who are
within the degree of relationship to him (or her) of wife, husband, sister,
brother, parent or child.
An Agent may hold only one appointment from a voter who is not within
such degree of relationship..
It is recommended that relatives and friends of members of .the Forces
who qualify according to the conditions cited above, and who are serving
outside Ontario, forward appointment forms to such members in order that
they may be completed and returned in readiness for use at the next election
to the Ontario Legislature.
Appointment forms may be secured on application to the undersigned.
