The funeral of Jacob Meiruker,.
Who died of a heart attack' at his
home, 'was held at St, Patrick's
Church on Saturday morning when
a large • group of neighbors and
friends assembled to pay "a final tri-
bute to a highly respected citizen.
Regitiern mass was sung by Rev, Dr.
Ffoulkes and Miss Mary Beale pres-
ided at the organ. The pallbearers
were; Daniel Costello, Gerald Hot -
land, Thomas Butters, Flt, -Lieut, G.
Alexander, Trenton, Frank Evans
and William J. Feeney. Interment
took place in St. Patrick's cemetery,

visit to the separate and continua-
tion schools here during the past

Mr. and Mrs. 3. E. Falconer were
tendered a farewell party on Friday
night previous to their departure for
Western Canada where they will re-
side. A group of neighbors and
friends assembled and made the
presentation of an address and gifts,
expressing their regret at losing such
excellent neighbors and citizens of

er responded very graciously and
thanked the donors for .,their kind-

dad boy, and how a school was built

son moved a vote of thanks to Mrs.
Henderson for telling the story,
Which was seconded by Ivan Wren.
The meeting closed with the Mizpall

ton. The bride, given in marriage by

sad news on. Wednesday of last
week of the sudden passing of their
youngest son, John Angus, aged 2
years and one month, at their home
home in. Sudbury. Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Ferguson had just returned two
weeks from a visit with their son
and family and on Thursday last
Mrs. Ferguson returned to Sudbury
to be with the family. The funeral
was held on Friday afternoon. Their
many friends extend their sincere
sympathy to the parents and family
in their bereavement and loss.

the past two months with Mt'. and
Mrs. Philip Rhynas in Toronto, re-
turned to Shangrila last week.

grave. A service preceded in Zion
Lutheran Church, Stratford, con-
ducted d by Rev. Gruhn. Ed. Schmidt
of Brodhagen is a brother.
The monthly meeting of St. Pet-
er's Ladies' Aid was held last Wed-
'nesday afternoon with 38 members
and three visitors present. The pas-
tor led in the devotional exercises.
The topic for the month was "Pray-
er—Does God hear prayers and how
does He answer?" The woman . of
Samaria was the Bible woman chos-
en for character study. Mrs. George
Mogk, the president, then- presided
over the business period. Every
member was asked to bring a tea
towel to be left for use in the kitch-
en of the church. The remainder of
the afternoon was spent in quilting.

On Sunday the service in St, Pet-
er's Lutheran Church will commence
at 10.30 a,m. At this service a class
of nine catechumeis will'be confirm-
