Mrs. Annie MacDonald Passes
Suddenly,-,
Mrs. Annie MacDonald passed
away suddenly at her home here on
Monday morning hi her 82nd, year.
The deceased was formerly Miss
Annie McAsh and was born at Varna
and came to Hensall to reside sev-
eral years ago and was a member of
• Carmel Presbyterian • Church, Sur-
viving are three sisters, Miss Mary,
with whom she resided, Mrs. Margar-
et McKenzie, Brucefield, and Mrs.
Munshaw, Detroit, two brothers, Dr.
John McAsh, Tara, and Mr, Ed. Mc -
Ash, London. A private funeral ser-
vice was held from the home on Wed-
nesday at 1.30 p.m. conducted by

First regular meeting of the 1943
Village Council was held Monday
evening with all member's present,
Minutes of the previous meeting read
and adopted. Ken Hicks appeared
asking a refund of the balance of his
transient trader license. Same to be
considered. R. J. Paterson, tax coll-
ector, reported as having. collected
310,882.76 off the 1942 roll, leaving
a balance of $11.52 uncollected. F.
W. Smallacombe and E. W. Fink,
that the collectors roll be left in the
hands of the collector until March
1st, 1943, Carried, Thos. Kyle re-
ported re the snow on King" street,
instructed to get in touch with J.
Masse. J. A. Paterson, treasurer, re-
ported assets as at Jan. 1 of about

Miss Marion Dougall, R.N., of Lon-

his home here after spending the
holidays at the home of his grand-

The staff of the Bank of Montreal,
Zurich, comprising Mr. Dagg, man-
ager, and Misses Margaret Glenn and
Ellen Fremlin, assistants, have been
transferred to the Hensall Branch of
the Bank of Montreal at Hensall. It
Is understood they will go to Zurich
on, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
of each week to open the branch
