horses suddenly became frightened,
and made a bolt ahead, at which

yoke, the disc up -ended, falling on

Orderly Marketing
of Poultry Pays
It depends largely on plans made
in springtime for orderly marketing
as to the amount of money a poul-
try producer will receive later on for
his chickens and fowl.
What is meant by the terns order-
ly marketing• is spreading the mar-
keting over a period of months for
the purpose of avoiding overloaded
markets, say poultry marketing ogf-
ficials, Dominion Dept. of Agricul-
ture. If most of the year's poultry
-crop is held until late fall no ad-
vantage is taken of the higher prices
which prevail during the summer.
When producers aim to market a
part of their chickens as broilers,
part as medium weight roasters dur-
Mg the summer months and the re-
mainder as heavy roosters in the
fall, that's orderly marketing.
Frequent culling of the laying
flock is another factor in orderly
marketing. Don't feed non -layers.
Highest prices are paid for Grade
A milkfed quality. Birds should be
crate or pen fattened for two weeks
before they are marketed. They
should be fed two or three times a
day at regular intervals—given only
as much as they will clean up in 20
or 30 minutes of a ration of finely
ground grains mixed with milk, and
given milk or water to drink.
