Dies In Toronto-.
Mrs.,Fred Corbett received word of
the death of her Either Mr, Herbert
Fineehamp, who paeSed away in Tor-
onto General Hospital in his- 79th
year. The deceased resided for a
number 'of years in London where be
was employed with the Mason &
nisch Piano Co. Surviving is his
widow, one daughter Mrs. Fred Cor-
bett, Hensall, and two sons, Norman'
and Rudolf, of Santiago, California.
Mr. and Mrs, Frank Parrott,' Wil-
low Grove, wish to announce the en-
gagement of their elder daughter,
Bernice Mae, to Mr. Roger Elkin
Christie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Christie, Cromarty, the mar
riage to take place early in April.

their homes in Hensall•
On Friday evening in Hensall
town hall, a joint dinner was sponsor-
ed by Hensall chamber of commerce
and Tuckersmith Federation of agri-
culture. A bountiful meal was Pro-
vided by the Hensall Women's Insti-
tute, Mr. Archie Morgan, president of
Huron Federation of agriculture, Pre-
sided. There was a short period of
community singing led by W. C.
Goodwin, accompanied at the piano
by Benson Stoneman. Mr. Kerslake
spoke on behalf of the Henson coun-
cil. Warden Armstrong of Hay spoke
briefly. Mr, S, Whitmore, reeve of
Tuckersmith, thanked the ladies for
the floe repast provided and re-
marked that the work of the Fedora-
tion was limitless and had made a
floe start. Mr. J. Shearer of Clinton
spoke in his usual affable manner.
Mr. Laird Mollie spoke briefly on the
second victory loan, Mr. Wm, Alex-'
ander reviewed the bean situation as
it stands today. Mr, Ken Jackson,
president of the Tuckersmith feder-
ation, introduced the guest speaker,
Mr. R. J. Scott of Toronto. His was a
forcible, well composed speech in the
interest of the federation. He dealt
at length with the present system of
bonusing of farm commodities and
what that means. Mr. R. Archibald
on behalf of the federaton thanked
the committee, Mr. R. Forest, Mr.
R. McGregor and Mr. Glen McLean,
for their efforts in providing such a
fine sociable evening.
Miss Barbara Shepherd of Clinton
spent the week end at her home here,
Miss Margaret Sangster visited
over the week end at her home in
Hensall.
Death of A. E, Hunt -
The death took place of a highly
respected resident of Hensall on
Wednesday in the person of Mr. A.
E. Hunt, in his 82nd year. 'He was
born in Arran township on Jan. 16th,
1860, and had resided in Hensall for
about three years. He was formerly
a resident of Ripley and was the son
of William and Marian Hunt. He is
survived by his widow, Jane Willis -
croft of Paisley, and five sons, Elroy,
Cyril and Errol of Toronto, Dr. M.
Hunt of EI Paso, Texas, Adrian,of
James Bay, and one daughter rs.
Hiscocks, of Hensall, also four bro-
thers, James, Wiarton, Jacob, Cargill,
Saul of Belton and William; also
three sisters, Elizabeth of Detroit,
Marie, Southey, Sask„ and Minnie,
of Miami, Florida. The funeral which
was held from the home on Friday at
2,30, was conducted by Rev. R. A.
