A pretty wedding was solemnized on Sat.
urday afternoon. at Wesley United Church,
London, when Rev. George Trimble united in
marriage Georgina Rice Wood. daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John A, Wood,.Euelid avenue,
to Camernnl E. Steer, of London, son of Mr.
and Mrs.. Charles Steer, Mount Brydges.
Palms and poinsettas made the setting for
the pretty ceremony for which the -bridal
music was played by Mr, Percy Pascoe and
Mrs. Gordon Knapp, soloist, singing, "MY
World." The bride, gluonin marriage byher
father, wore a graceful gown of ivory em-
broidered satin, floor length, the skirt
sweeping into a long train, the sleeves puff-
ed 'at the shoulders and extending in lily.

frock in floor length with tiny puffed sleeves.
A bandeau of velvet gibbon and pink and
blue forget-me-notsadorned her hairand fell
in streamers and she carried a tiny colonial
bouquet of forget-me-nots and sweet peas.
Dr. Donald G. Steer of Hensel', brother of
the bridegroom, was the best man and the
ushers were Mr. William Bacon and Mr.
Elmo Curtis. The reception was held at the
Grange where Mrs. Wood received in navy
blue sheer with matching accessories. The
bridegroom's mother chose Churchillblue
with matching accessories. After the wedding
supper Mn.. and Mrs. Cameron Steer left on
a honeymoon trip the bride travelling in
marina blue with black coat collared in sil-
ver fox. They will reside in London.

A quiet but pretty wedding was

Dec. 17, when Bernice Marjorie
Thiel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. El-
mer Thiel, Zurich, was united in
marriage to John 'Elgin McClinobey,
youngest son of Mrs. George Mo-
Clinchey and the late Mr. McClinch-
ey of Varna. The Rev. J. Penrose of-
ficiated. The bride vas smartly at-
tired in a rose alpaca frock made on
long fitted bodice lines with three
quarter length sleeves and a hand-
some locket the gift of the groom,
completing her costume. Immediate-
ly after the ceremony the happy cou-
ple left for eastern points, the bride

For Christmas Sunday the United Church
was decorated with evergreens' and a Targe
Christmas tree lit with •eoloerd lights, The
choir sang two anthems, "Come and adore
Him,” and "Star Light O'er Bethlehem." Mn.
Grant preached from Isaiah xi:6, A little
child shall lead them," the paradox of Christ-
mas.
On Tuesday evening the Sunday School
held Its annual Christmas tree entertainment.
The entertainment was opened witld a chorus
by the school. Then followed recitations by
Grant' McGregor. Robt. Caldwell and Ken-
neth McLellan; a piano selection by Marian
Thomson, trio by Sybil, Barbara and.. Joan
Grant; recitation, Ivan Wren, .organ selec-
tion, Elizabeth Grant; recitation, Jean Cald-
well, dialogue, "Selling Sally,"" by Wallace
and Dick Watson and Elaine Cooper; recita-
tion by Donald ICyle; dialogue by Marian
Thomson, Norma Deitz and Howard: Day-,
man entitled Buying- Eggs." Recitation • by
Tom Ifyle. A sketch entitled "A Bachelor's'
Reverie," was given by junior young people.

chopping mill nearly completed on
the corner of sideroad 5 and 6, which
will be a great relief to our farm-
ers. Some of the other mills " ' are
crowded too much at times so that
you have to wait for half a day to
get your chop, when you should be

On Monday evening of last week the Un-
ited Church Sunday -School -held its Sunday
School Christmas tree and was vary much
enjoyed by all. Before the regular program
was introduced the children entered heartily
into a'nunnber of games. Then with the min-
ister, Rev, A. M. Grant, in the chair the
following programme was provided by the
school. After the opening chorus, Anna
Grace Forrest expressed the words of wet

come. Recitations , were given by Margaret•
Stephan, Keith Love, 8111 Oonsitt, Floyd
Turner, Orion Stephan, Tom Consitt, Robert
Love, :Gerald Parsons and May .Coleman,
Mervyn .Stephan rendered a violin solo. Syb-

`Stephan gave a guitar solo. Sybil Grant gave
a reading, The chairman spoke on the im
portance of. Sunday School work in every
community. The programmecameto a close -

the tree.. The ladies of the congregation
crowned the evening's pleasure by a delight-
