Saturday next will be Seaforth's day for recognizing the efforts of the boys who manfully went ont last spring to help the farmers with the crops„ Solve of the boys went out in April and, though unused to baro, labor, did their little "bit" in increasing prochlotion in this'eritioaltime in the history of Can• ads, The boys all went into it with the determination to make good. And they did so, Most of the farmers were quite sympathetic with the boys and took the trouble to teach them the new work. . These farmers had the hest results from the boys, who cam back feeling that they had learned much about the.difficulties of the farmers. It has dobe the boys good and in most oases it has done the farmers more good They were hard pressed for help and the boys were a great help. It is to recognize this work that the meetings are held on Saturday. Games will be held iu the fair grounds alter '3 P,111. At 8 P,M., in Carclno's Hall a meeting with Mayor Stewart in the chair, will bo held. I got a couple from home and one from Aunt Kate so that we got a chance to eat something dainty for once in a while, They sent me a very fine set of pliers too, for cutting telephone wire they are exactly what 1 wanted in 0000y way, One of mother's parcels wesprov- ided by W.R. Smith the grocer, and the almonds and raisins in it w re the biggest treat imaginable. I have beau getting lots of lettere recently. J received a couple of nine little photo- graphs from home of Howard, Leslie and the colt, and of Ethel and Leslie. Stanley also sent me a fine picture of little Harvey, so I have quite a collec- tion of the family in my leather pocket case, 1 have not seen Harvie Dormice 5133.71 141.20 100.00 2.25 100.86 10 00 5,25 -,10 27,2r 1.60 10.60 21.60 118.92 $871.92 $ 10. 00 1. 75 332,74. 4.91 $354.30 5617.62 Jessie Neil Treasurer SECRETARY'S REPORT For AUGUST - now since the middle of July, but I um expecting a letter every day telling that he has landed in England, The last time I saw hien he was looking well and enjoying life. We saw in a Canadian paper that eon soriptionhad palmed the House of Com moue by a large Majority and every mus dier was glad. We all wautedit for a long time because it is not fair for us to be fighting out hero and enduring the hardships and pain .while the slackers at home, especially the French Canad lane, cit by their comfortable firesides and enjoy themselves, 'tea thing they can do only because hosts of volunteers stand between them and the enemy, So I hope everybody will support Sir Rob- ert Borden in his endeavour to win the war and give us a square deal. The Canadian army is one of the finest fight ing units in this war and it would be a great pity if it were allowed to dwindle away for look of support. The French in Quebec have ruled Canada long en ough, it is now time to allow them that Canada can rule Quebec, We hear rti. morethat there is going to be a general election on the question. I do hope there will be a resinationa] win-the•war government for Canada, Well, 1 dollop° you are both keeping n good health and that Harvie 'and I Will be home before long, but I am ef- aid it will be some months yet before we beat the Garment, ,Yours with beet wishes, Brenton, No child should be allowed to suffer an hour from Worms when prompt re- lief can be got in a simple but strong 180 suits of pyjamas, ,42 ;flannel remedy—Mothers Gravel' Worm Ex. ehirta, 2 quil1e, 92 pairs of seeks, terminator T. cox & el ), KMNAL1t1.0114 AND , r17NJtltAL 1111tif02,0114 II. e;. 5 X Holam Liceuee `c1) 1r t"Rt cru Phonon { Dry 6 0, la 160 mmw,.m.....a.mrnph+ $1.00 per year S F FORTH LLFAI 4.
