The 'May meeting of the Wal-
ton WMS group was held in the
schoolroom of the Church on
Wednesday evening with 29
members and one visitor in at-
tendance. The president, Mrs.
Torrance Dundas opened the
meeting with hymn 311, "0 Love
that will not let me Go". follow-
ed with the Lord's Prayer re-
peated in unison. The scripture
lesson was read by Mrs. James
Clark from Psalm 84. Comments
"The Lord's Life" were given by
the president after which prayer
was offered by Mrs. Wm. Ben-
nett. Mrs. Harvey Brown gave
a very interesting topic entitled
"The Last Fortress Is In Our
'Own Soul". (Mrs. (Brown also

to 1862. The !Church was the
Canada Presbyterian Church
and situated on the south-east
corner of Mr. Dennison''s lot
which is now owned by Mr. Nel-
son Reid.
The secretary's and treasur-
er's reports were read and adopt-
ed. A special invitation was ac-
cepted to hold the June aneeting
at the home of Mrs. Donald Mc -
Nell; Londesboro. The .copper
contest money will be .collected
for the (first pant of the year at
this meeting. Any good used
clothing for the bale must be in
by next Sunday. The aneeting
closed with hymn 550 "Abide
With Me", followed by the IMiz-
paill Benediction.

James Scott of ISeaforbh was
;presented by Mrs. D. (Ennis,
Mrs. T. Dundas, Mrs. F. Kirkby,
Mrs. N. Marks and Mrs. ''H. Tra-
vis. This skit was very appropri-
ate at this time as the XRay un-
its were in Brussels and Blyth
lest week. As the skit ended Mrs.
Wilmer 'Cuthill was presented
;with a leather-bound hymnary.
The presentation was made by
(Mrs. Gordan Murray and Mrs.
George MclArthur read a short
address. Seven contests were
conducted by Mrs. Ralph Tra-
vis. Lunch was served by the
hostess, Mrs. Lloyd Potter and
Mrs. John Hislop, Mrs. Harvey
Brown and Mrs. Allan !Searle.
Mr, Gerald Dressel spent the
weekend in Detroit.

Hospital for lacerated head on
Sundaw afternoon..She was
travelling south, on No. 4 high-
way near 'Centralia when a car
driven by Don Bell of the
YMCA, London, collided with
the back of her car forcing it
into the :ditch, overturning and
sliding some distance on its side.
'Provincial Police Officer, 'Roy
Grover of London investigated.
Two lady passengers in the
Bell car and' a male passenger in
the Jarrott
car were nnllurt.

caused.
Mrs. John L. Henderson
Mrs. Jahn L. Henderson pass-
ed away suddenly at her home
on No, 4 highway just north of
the village on Sunday.
Mrs. Henderson, the former
Anne Bell !McLean was born
near Kippen, 62 years ago. She
was an active member of St. An-
drew's United Church, a 'former
choir mem=ber and organist, Life
member of the WMS. and active
in the W. A., a member of the
Kippen East Institute. She is
survived by her husband, two
sisters, Mrs, Jessie Fowler, Tor-
onto, and Mrs. +Earl Sproat in
Hensall.
The funeral was held on Wed-
nesday from St. Andrew's Un-
ited Church conducted by Rev.
Norman (McLeod, interment was
in Baird's Centery.
Mrs. Frank .Plumb of east of
the village is confined to hos-
pital.
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wren and
daughter of Milton were week
end guests of the former's par-
ents, Mr. and =Mrs. Gordon
Wren.

Y.P.U. Anniversary
The YPU of .St. Andrew's
United Church held their an-
nual spring anniversary on Sun-
day with a good attendance.
The guest speaker at both ser-
vices was Rev. A. (Rapson of
!Iain :St. United 'Church, Exeter.
Special music was furnished
by the choir with Miss Elaine
Bell and Mss Bonnie Kyle sing-
ing duets at both services.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ralph of

spent a few days last week with

DUBLIN
,On Friday evening, May llth,
the pupils of St. Patrick's
School, Dublin, entertained their
parents with singing, public
speaking and a debate. Marjorie
O'Reilly acted as 'chairman.
The 12 musical entries in the
recent Mitchell Festival included
Choruses, duet, solos, double
trio and choral speaking.
The nine pupils in grade eight
presented very interesting
speeches, with first place award-
ed to Theresa Shea, a close se-
cond to Donald Benninger and
third to Cecelia Feeney. The pu-
pils all received very encourag-
ing comments from the judges,
whose decisions were presented
by 'Mother Angela Merici of the
Dublin High School,
The programme had an added
interest in a debate presented
by 'boys of Grades F and '7, with
Paul Aslin of Grade 8 as chair-
man. The topic was: Resolved -
That •
esolved-That' Education Provides Great-
er ,Seeurity than Leaving !School
=haply to Earn a Salary. The af-
firmative ative was carried by Rich-
ard Stapleton and Bobby Staple-
ton and bhe 'opposition was up-
held by Jimmy Shea and Jack

solemnized in 'Carmel Presby-
terian 'Church, Hensellll, when

marriage Jean Marie Mousseau,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Mousseau, 'Hensall, and Robert
Reid Elliott, son of Mr. and (Mrs.
David Elliott, 'Clinton. The al-
tar was banked with 'daffodils
and fern. Given in en'arriage by
her father, the bride looked
charming in a ballerina -length
gown of white chantilly lace
over nylon tulle and satin, lash,
ioned with a bouffant skirt and
pleated trim on bodice. The lace
jacket featured a Peter Pan col-
lar and lily -point sleeves. Her
Shoulder -length veil of tulle and
net was held 'by a thieea of seed
pearls, 'and 'carried red roses.
The plaid of honor, Miss Mar-
garet'Canipbei'1 of London, wore
a ballerina -length dress of blue
nylon net over taffeta with
snatching headdress, carried a
bouquet of pink carnations. The

Seaforth, wore a ballerina -length
dress of pink nylon over taffe-
ta with matching headdress and
carried blue carnations. The
Rower gilt, (Cheryl Mousseau of
Hensaii, wore yellow nylon over

first time in 15 years it was

together. It also marked the 25th
year ,for Mr. Jordan as post-
master.
