Ile was in his 80th year. He was born in Hibbert twp., lot 25, con. 5 and •attended school at S. S. 4. On Sept. 26, 1906, he married Catherine Amelia Ev- ans, who survives him, as well as six daughters and one son: Mrs. George Coyne (Anna) Dublin; Mary, Toronto; Mrs. James Morris (Helen), Sea - forth; James, Ohatham; Mrs. John Wallington (Margaret), Hamilton; Mrs. Joseph A. Lane (Teresa), Seaforth; and Mrs. Cyril Brown (Genevieve), Se- bringville. He is also survived by one brother William P. At- kinson, and one sister, Mrs. John Shea ,('Catherine). The late Mr. AtII nson has nine grandchild - reg. He was president of the Hibbert Conservative, Associa- tion for many years. He was a councillor of Hibbert twp. for 11 years and Reeve for two. He retired to Dublin 11 years ago, after farming on lot 27, con. 5 in Hibbert twp. He was a mem- ber of the Holy Name •SocietY and League of the !Sacred Heart. The funeral took place froan his late residence to St. Pat- rick's ,Ohurch, Dublin, on Sat- urday anorning. Rev. J. B. Ffoulkes offered Requiem High Mass. Burial was in St. Colum- ban Cemetery, Mr.Atkinson having been a member of that parish for many years. The pall- bearers were James Doyle, Michael Doyle, John Coyne, John Murphy, Frank Cronin, Patrick Ryan. McKI LLOP The July meeting of the Mc- Killop Branch of the WMS was held at the home of Mrs. J. W. Thompson. Mrsl. Helen McMil- lan opened the meeting with prayer followed by singing hymn 139. Mrs. Harold Agar read for the bible reading the 1st chap. of James, after which Mrs. G. B. Dorrance led in prayer. The minutes of the June meeting were adopted as read followed by roll call wibh sixteen mem- bers and 10 visitors. The Aug. meeting will be held et the home of Mrs. Helen McMillan with Mrs. R. E. McMillan's group in charge. Mrs. J. L. Bell in her very able manner gave chapter 5 and 6 of the study book. Miss Judy Thompson gave a very well rendered piano solo. Mrs. James Kerr of the Senior Society of the WMS gave a very interesting account of the Gen- eral Assembly meeting held in Toronto. Mrs. S.
